Tomtom ONE GPS Receiver - Page 6 Questions & Answers
720 touch screen unresponsive and i cannot click yest to hook to computer or move forward
Sometimes these screens can just die, offering the "opportunity" to buy a newer technology! First thing to do is a full reset - check the manual to find out how, but it's going to be something like a little button, maybe inside the battery compartment, look for a small hole that might take a paper clip. Failing that, take it back to the store, especially if it's relatively new.
No memory card
Halfords sellthem but you gonna get a shock when you find out what they cost. Alternatively if you have actually made a back up of the unit simply copy and paste onto a blank card. tomtomONE has a maximum capacity of 2GB so dont waste your spends on a 4GB or higher as they will not be recognised
BLUE SCREEN hard to see.
Blue screen 'haze' is a damaged display panel and it needs to be replaced before it goes black without notice
The screen its not working, i push, hit, and
Try performing a "soft reset" by taking a paperclip or an other small object and push the button in a small hole on the bottom of your GPS. The more recent TomTom GPS devices don't have a separate reset button. If your device doesn't have one you have to disconnect your device from a charger of USB-cable and you hav to keep pressing the power button until you hear the TomTom startup sound (drums), then release the button and the device will reboot. No settings get lost by this procedure.
My tomtom Go Live 1535TM was stolen at Vallejo
There is one thing you can do if you have the serial number of your device. You can find it on the device itself and on a sticker on the packaging of your device. If your device was registered to your TomTom account, you could try contacting TomTom support by phone and ask if they can give you the serial number when you provide them you're account data.Once you have the serial number you go to the police station and inform them your device was stolen. If you're lucky, one day the police will find the gagsters who stole your GPS, and if they find lots of stolen products, they will probably check the police computer to check if the serial numbers are reported as stolen.
My Tom Tom reads it can't find a valid GPS Signal.
tom tom and others do this from time to time. i have fixed mine by taking the battery off, you need to open the unit up and un solder the battery. then leave it off for 10min then solder it back on you only need to remove the black wire off the battery leave the other red one on. should be fine then does a full reboot on startup.
Tomtom will not turn on
I had this issue. If you get the green charge light you may have the same issue as me. It could not be repaired. It was under a year old so tomtom replaced it under warranty. If yours is out of warranty then you cannot fix it so just purchase a new one.
Xxl screen is frozen
Hold down the power button for around 10 seconds the device should do a full reboot. You may need to hold it in again till you get a green screen then let go and the hold down again till you get the drum sound and it should reboot. If this fails go to web site and search for the instruction to do a complete reinstall of the device. Make a back up first especially your map. This is because you need to format the device and reinstall all the device apps, the map however cannot be downloaded for free without a subscription. Also download the free zip file or postcode file from tomtom once you finish to get the latest one. Try to download fresh files rather than install from your backup using tomtom home program but remember your map must be backed up.

Getting started
I just moved to another location - changed the start point !
TomTom frozen
My TomTom One is acting up. All of a suddent, it has a hard time finding a valid GPS signal. Then, it sometimes becomes frozen at the first screen when you turn it on. When I try to connect to the computer, the menu page comes up on the computer screen, but the unit does not respond to anything. This unit has operated smoothly until now and I have done nothing to change it. Any ideas?
