Sound drivers

You need to know what kind of sound card you have. If it's built in on board then go to your computer specified web page like Intel, or Asus, Samsung, Dell and so on. The information would be in your motherboard manual or manual you got with computer. If it's not built in then you have no choice then to open up your computer and locate the pci sound card, not modem card. When you take out card it will have a big chip on it. The model number is on the chip and somewhere on the card will have the manufacturer's name. Once you have it all written down, search for it on line and download it for free. Try www.driverguide.com also for drivers, but you need to register!

Sonud problem

many of the drivers are included with windows, IF you know which sound chips you have, you can look for under the manufacturer, either here on on their website.

I would want to check the device manager to see that is properly set first.

Sound

Check headphones or speakers are not plugged into the output plug for the sound card and if they are they are powered on.
Go to Start>Control Panel> Sounds and Audio Devices>Adjust the system volume and make sure the volume is up and Mute is unchecked.
If you are using a laptop, or a computer with a keyboard with volume controls, make sure these are not muted or down low. Check your user manual for exactly how to use this if you are unsure.

Compaq V5000 laptop

It may either be connection of the LCD to the flex cable, (IF YOUR LUCKY), or the TAB welds on the board on top of the LCD are bad.

If you want to attempt this you will have to remove the screws on the plastic that houses the LCD and separate the bezel front and back. Screws hold the lcd to the back bezel. make sure the ground is attached and the cable is securely in place.

Hello.
There are two kind of sound devices that can be inside a pc:
- Integrated on board ( in your motherboard).
- Sound card ( a card that is plugged in one of the motherboard slots).
If you have any installed, you will need to install a software called " Sound driver " for that specific device, in order to make it work.
you can find the software in one of the CDs you get usually with the computer when you buy it.
If you don't have that CD, to find that driver you need to know the kind, model and manufacturer of that device, if you have the integrated one, you should visit the motherboard manufacturer website.
For the card go to the card manufacturer website or do a google search, there are sites where you can get the drivers(the last applies for the motherboard too.)

Hope this help you.
