Heater has intermediate flame only
Oil/kero heater right? Did you check the fuel? If the fuel is okay....the nozzle may need changed. If the nozzle is okay check the electric eye.
Hope this helps you...Jim...Please leave a comment

How to fix a 55,000 BTU torpedo heater. Change
Clean the injector located right beside the spark plug and check both rubber tubes that connect to the housing that the injector screws into and finally make sure you turn the plastic screw on the plate where the filter goes. This screw regulates the air pressure . One of the screws is for a pressure gauge and the other one adjusts the air pressure.

It is full of kerosene
The safety is turning it off because it is not lighting. You did not mention if it was actually trying to light, or if it was just the motor running. If it is not lighting, take the top cover off and watch the ignitor. Depending on the type of ignitor, it will either glow or spark when you plug the heater in. This should happen before the fan starts running. Once the fan starts, you should be able to see a mist of fuel coming out of the nozzle. If there is no fuel spray you may have an air pump problem, which is on the back of the motor, or the fuel screen in the tank may be plugged.
1. Check for ignition source
2. Blower motor should start, if you have ignition
3. Fuel should spray out of nozzle, if not check filter and check for air flow out of the pump.
4. If you do not have any air flow, or not enough air flow check the pump. Pressure out is critical.
5. If pressure is too low check for leaks around the pump. Spray soapy water on the back side of the motor/pump housing. The plastic pump cover is bad about cracking, and the cracks are very hard to see. The plastic cover could also be loose on the pump.
6. While on this end of the pump; the filters need to be clean, as they will affect the pump pressure and upset the whole apple cart.

Will run when you take top cover off, when you put
I thought I answered this-- let me try again:
This was some research I did on FixYa.com-- see if it helps:
Reddy Heater - Troubleshooting Torpedo Heaters
If you brought the heater to our shop, and gave the above description, the first thing that we would do is check the air pump pressure.
Then, if the pressure is correct (not just close) we would check the photocell for signs of insect nest or something similar blocking the view of the eye.
You must troubleshoot to find out if the problem is fuel related or electronics related- maybe these tips will help (click for link).

Hello i havent Used my ready heater 60000 btu
Hi,
The fan motor is setup...
Tear it part and get some WD-40 worked into the motor at the shaft end... then when you get it spinning freely... get some light motor oil worked into the bearing...
Works best if you can tip the heater back so the WD-40 and oil naturally run back into the motor...

Runs than shuts off after
Is this a propane or kerosene heater? If it is kerosene, check your fuel, clean your tank and start with fresh fuel. Check your fuel filter/air filters at the back of air pump. Make sure your ignition system is working.

I need to know if
Yes there is a filter. Pull up on the fuel line, or the rubber grommet that goes into the tank with the fuel line through it. There were different types of filter used. One is inside a black plastic tube. You can pick it out of the tube with a pick. Another style is located on top of the tank and is of white plastic. Your fuel delivery problem may be air related. The air pump is on the back of the blower motor, and meters a set volume of air to **** the fuel out of the tank and blow it through the nozzle. This air pressure is stated on the data plate on your heater, probably about 3.6 psi. The air filters on the air pump could also be dirty causing the air output to be reduced, and thus low fuel flow. Also check for air leaks at the pump. Spray soapy water on the black plastic cover and look for bubbles, which are of coarse air leaks.

Motor has seised up on
Question- are you sure the motor has seized? If the rotor shatters it can bind the motor.
If the motor has seized it must be replaced, It is not serviceable.

I have a Readdy Heater
The pump is not applying enough pressure to allow sufficient fuel volume to the plug. if the plug is not receiving a proper spray to vaporize the fuel at contact, it will not provide enough flame.

Turn on .runs 6 or
Calm down and lets do routine maintenance this is what I do each and every year. Remove the top half of the burner tube, this exposes the burner tray. Locate the flame sensor these collect carbon, dirt, and the occasional insect nest. Now clean the flame sensor with windex and a soft terry cloth rag, make sure it has a clear unobstructed view of the flame. Next is the fuel nozzle, locate it and remove it,they say that you can not clean these, I say carb cleaner, q-tips and tooth pick work fine, clean the nozzle.Behind the nozzle there should be a screen these corrode while in storage some times clean it and now reinstall the nozzle assembly. Inspect the fuel lines for cracks, dry rot or holes, do this back to the fuel pump. Replace the top half of the tube and remove the side cover on the side where the fuel line drops thru, in doing this you should now be able to see the fuel filter. Remove the filter and using a compressor and an air gun blow air backwards thru the filter, now it is clean put it back in line, finish inspecting fuel line to the tank making sure it is submerged in the fuel. Put the side cover back on. Last is the air filter on the rear intake, it is usually a foam filter, wash it out dry it real good put it back in. Now you plug in your heater and it should now run like new. Good Luck and take your time this is not that hard.
