In case you've forgotten how to change the text size, hold down 'Code' and '& Size' key to display the current setting. While still holding the Code button, push and release the '&' key to change the size.

To reset, I would try removing the batteries for a few minutes before reinstalling them.

Just two guesses.

I had a problem in that I purchased cheap batteries. Brand new out of the box at least three were bad. Confirm your batteries are OK by using them in other electronic items. Even one battery too weak or bad will cause a problem.
>I'm also assuming that you have correctly replaced all the batteries back in the PT65. My mother always puts one battery in wrong and needs help. LOL...

Change the swutch & cheak the cable.

on PT-65 hold down the code button and press & ; each time you do this the font selection ( there are 5 of them) moves to select your font

Remove back cover by pressing down on dots. Make sure you have the correct size replacement (they start with an M and are 9mm or 12mm).
Put the side of the tape that has the open V in it over the silver metal holder in the PT65. Snap the left side of the cartridge in. This should line up the black roller with the exposed part of the tape.
Snap the lid back on and turn on the unit. Hold the CODE button and press the space bar so some of the tape feeds out of the top.

I need instruction on how to getrid of unwanted background

When labels print i get back ground i do not want

I just wasted 20 minutes to get the font size changed. Press Code and then the & you keep pushing the & and it will toggle through the numbers 1-5 (5 being largest)
