My paper light comes on and won't go off. There is no paper jam that I can find. I have plenty of paper in both trays! HELP!! I need my printer to work for my work!
I had the same problem on 4 Brother HL-5250's, I checked the whole printer, and couldn't find a paper jam, yet the red printer light wouldn't shut off. I finally followed the instructions on Brother's website for removing a paper jam, and the solution for all 4 printers was paper stuck in the fuser cover. See below on how to open the fuser cover.
Pull the tabs at the left and right hand sides toward you to open the fuser cover (1).
Here's the link from HP, on how to open the Fuser Cover.

I work in an office and we have several Brother HP 5250DL printers. A co-worker who has the same printer asked for some toner. I gave him a brand new TN-550 toner for his printer and he brought it back saying his printer just kept showing the toner error message. He decided to test the toner on my printer and the toner light came on so we placed my original toner back in the drum and the toner light is still on. I have tried truning the machine off and putting the original toner in but nothing works. Do you have any suggestions?
The following worked on the 3 of our HL 5250DN printers that stopped printing for no apparent reason with both the status and toner lights on:
1: Turn off power and remove toner/drum
2: Tape the little spring loaded lever just inside the printer on the upper left hand side in the *DOWN* position! Do not replace drum yet and...
3: Turn power on to printer and let it cycle. Status/Toner lights will come on as usual.
4: Turn off printer, remove tape from lever, replace drum and turn back on.
After hours of working on one of the printers, virtually taking the entire thing apart and replacing fusers, toners and drums, I accidently stumbled onto this sequence. When I tried it on the other 2 printers, Voila! Took like 1 minute each. It must cause some kind of reset of the toner detection switch.

I have a new brother printer (MFC-240C) and it is printing blurry. It was just fine the first several times I used it, now it is printing out blurry. I really have no clue on what to do here. I tried checking the printer to see if anything was wrong with it but I really didn't know what the hell I was looking for? Anybody know...??? I'm sure it's something simple just cant figure it out? Thanks
I have bro-420C. Same problem. I used the option Ink. There is "cleaning" option. It helped to make it much better.

I have a Brother HL-5250 DN. It supports automatic duplex printing but prints the back side upside down. I have tried changing settings all over the palace and just cannot make it work right. Any suggestions?
If it's the same as the Brother 4070 you go into printer proerties (press properties next to printer selector after sending a document to print). Choose the advanced tab, on this tab near the top are five buttons with icons on, the second one shows two pages with A and B on, press this to access the duplex and binding options. In there change from "flip on top edge" to "flip on left edge"

Toner light was on. Replaced cartridge with new toner, light stays on and printer will not print. Light is NOT flashing, just steady light.
I found this and it worked great.
1. Power Unit off
2. Open front cover
3. Press and hold GO and turn power on
4. When all 3 lights lit release and press GO twice
5. All lights turn solid
6. With all solid, press GO 5 times
7. Ready light GOes red
8. Close door and you're all set

I want to find the MAC address on a Brother HL-5250DN mono laser printer. We run on a Windows XP Ethernet network. Is there a report page I can print straight from the Printer?
Go to Printers and Faxes.
Right click on the printer and select Properties.
Toward the bottom, click on Printing Preferences...
Click on the Support tab.
Click on Print Settings.
This should give you three pages. The third page has the network settings including Ethernet/MAC address.

All the Lights are flashing on my HL 5250DN
If printer is blinking all the LEDs then try to turn off the power switch, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on and try to print again. If all the LEDs are still blinking, press Go and Job Cancel buttons together and let me know what LEDs stay on.

Brother hl-5270dn is desplaying the error code S01? What does this mean?
S01 = Fatal error EX
1) turn off the printer
2) wait a few seconds
3) turn it on again
H63 = DRAM access error
1) turn off the printer
2) wait a few seconds
3) turn it on again

i have a brother 5250dn and all lights are flashing! status is flashing , and all others are flashing orange or amber. I pressed the go and cancel buttom at the same time. Then paper light stops flashing and toner, drum and red status light come on and stay on as long as i have the buttons pressed down. what do i do next?
That series of lights indicates a main circuit board failure. You will need a shop to replace the main logic PCB. Could be caused by anything, static shock, bad input power from power strip or power failure, just plain CPU failure. If it's under warranty, 1 year since purchase, you need a Brother service center, out of warranty a new printer would cost less than repair.

The above solution doesn't help, the poster requested how to reset the fuser count replacing the fuser doesn't automatically reset the counter.
