The problem is most likely the battery which you can purchase
HERE---If you know someone with the same phone, ask to try theres.
It's more of a personal choice of if you want to try purchasing a battery or upgrading your phone. You can then put your SIM card in the new phone and it's as simple as that. (phone must be for the same service provider as the old one)

First cross-check the battery if its taking charge. This first possibility is faulty battery.
I the battery seems to be ok, then there is something wrong with the phone, mainly with the firmware.
Try updating your phone's firmware/software, via some service center.
