Everything works but no display

Ah! My friend. you are lucky that you ask the right person. I have fixed so many V551 with LCD defect so this symtom is usual on v551 and most Motorola Flip phones. As you know, the construction of the LCD cable has been designed by a long ellectric thin wire and one side will connect into the main and CallerID smaller LCD and the other end will connect to the main board and the part in the middle will stuck inside the hinge where the flip will apply a lot of force for the function of open and close. for a long period of usage, it will either worn out the middle part of the cable or loose the connection of either side which cause loosing display. That is why you can call and receive but cannot see anything. The simple thing is open the case and check first at the main board side for any bad contact and tougher the other side is inside the main LCD. If you find both side are still good in connection then the middle part is bad due to flipping so many time of the user in order to open and close. YOU THEN NEED TO REPLACE THE NEW LCD. I have two solutions to help you in this case: 1) View on the link below for the instruction of how to open the housing. http://sbarth.dyndns.org/seiten/rahmen.php?nav=motorolahandy Sorry the link is in German but you can look at the picture to follow. 2) Or email me at [email protected] if you want me to repair the phone for you. I will charge you for only $10.00 for labor fee and $5.00 for shipping. I am sure to make your phne back to normal or your money back. My shipping address is below: JOSEPH DAO P.O. BOX 390307 MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA 94039 USA If you want other way to help, let me know. I am sure you will be happy with your phone back to normal. I hope this help

Phone will not come on

i had the same problem as well. there is a small button to the top right of the settings button. you can take a toothpick or paperclip and gently tap the button several times. tap it to see if you get a response, if not then turn off the phone and turn on the phone with the button tapped.

My cell won't charge

I've had similar problem, and found that if I jiggled the charger prong, that it can make a connection. Sometimes, the connection is dusty or just not hitting the receptors in your phone. Hope that helps.

Everything works but the screen. Need help to recover address book

Yes you can access the address book using a data cable, but why don't you just take out the sim card if the numbers are stored on there? Or are they stored on the phone? I have a v551 with the sme problem that i am trying to fix so I have mine in pieces. If I can fix it I will let you know.

BlueTooth No Need V551

You can only transfer files by putting the sim card in other phone or by usb cable to pc then pc to new phone or by infra red if they have it but that is a bit hit and miss.

Can't hear those that call me or when I call others. Can't hear touchtones either.

This happened to my phone and I found that if I pushed in the right spot (just about the bottom of the motorola circle, bottom meaning towards the hinge) I could get the sound to come back in. Best way to test this that I found was to call voicemail and push around to find the right spot.

i finally figured it out! I have had the same problem. here is what to do. Make a phone-call, or when you answer a phone-call while connected press the arrow pointing to the right it will make the volume go up. I do not know why they do not publish this in their manual it took me months before I found this out.
