Hi.
When the battery is OK, if you do not get dial tone it is either because the unit is faulty, or because there is a problem with phone cable or line.
Try first resetting the unit by disconnecting the base power adapter and removing the handset battery for a couple of minutes. This will reset the unit by draining power completely, and can resolve problems caused by jammed electronics.
If that does not work, then try swapping the phone cords between two units. You may need to use a small screwdriver to push down the plastic tab and disconnect the RJ11 connector on phone side.
If still no luck use a corded phone to test line, and test the unit on a different phone socket, in that case the problem is either phone or line.
I can't remember my pin or number to my phone and
Hi,
PUK code in PIN UNLOCKING CODE, which is required when you give PIN number wrongly for 3 times,
This code is OPERATOR specific and not phone specific and you have to call you operator and get PUk if PIN is blocked...
if you provide PUK code wrongly for 7 time, you sim may become useless, then you have to buy new SIM
NOTE: You should ask your service provider..

Phone will not switch on.
Find the same type of battery like your phone that you know that is full of charge. Then try inserting it with your phone. If nothing happens, better bring it to a service phone shop.
I have a siemens gigaset
Try a harware reset! dont worry this will not delete anything on your handset. it is a simple procedure:
while the phone is on take out the battery and then the sim
then insert the battery by itself and power it up.
It should ask to insert a sim or something along those line.
when it does take the battery out again while the phone is on.
put it all back together and power the phone up again.
If this does not work.
Try MnuL ROm in network settings. search manualy and select a different network to what you are on and then do the same and go back to your service provider. then reset back to automatic.
if that does not work there is one more thing.
if the handset is 3G try setting to GSM mode only.

What's the make and model of your phone? Also, who is the original provider and who are you trying to use it for?

Is the number a LandLine? If so, try dialling the area code aswell.
If it's a mobile, you may have to change the 0 of 07xx... to +44.
You may be able to do this by holding the 0 key to get a +.
Check you've exactly the right number.
Failing this, you may wish to see if there are any firmware upgrades. Check the web.
I had a paper jam in this model: DM72C and I cleaned all the paper out but it won't start shredding again even though all the power lights are on and ready. What am I missing?
You were asked questions? I have been campaigning for this for 3 months. I told them you need a pop-up
All questions need 'make model (what it is)' as first 3 words.
You are missing the
maker, but you do mention 'shredding'.
Then I also said
'There are 40,000 categories to choose from'.
You chose
'Cell Phones'.
and it's not a 'memo', it's a question. :>)
So, first of all, disconnect it from the mains for 30 minutes. If you jammed it, you were working it hard, and when it jams, heat builds up in the motor and trips the thermal protection device. They have a thermal cut out, some have a thermal fuse what need physically replacing, but most reset when they cool.
Does it work in reverse? A jam can sometimes damage the switch in the throat of the shredder, some are a mechanical switch, some are an infra-red sensor.
