It sounds like an over temp sensor is tripping.....Make sure the lint filter is clean and no lint is blocking the vent pipe.........A fire hazard is present so be careful......Unplug the Unit while servicing the vent piping...........
It depends on the reason for the hot smell - discovering this would mean a trip to the service shop and weighing the cost of that against a replacement microwave.
Unless your Hotpoint is something special, it is likely a replacement would make sense.
It is wise to periodically measure the power output of a microwave oven by timing the boiling of a measured quantity of water when it is young. When or if the time has extended more than about 10% it is time to think about service or replacement. It is also important to keep the inside of the cabinet clean and all the air vents clear.
Thing to do check pump is not blocked and clear it then reset machine by unplugging for 5 mins and plug back in if still gets error F 05 then you need a repair call out. hope this helps.
Using your belt, slip it under the agitator. Give a very hard yank and the agitator will pop up and off. DO NOT HAVE YOUR FACE OVER THE AGITATOR WHEN YOU PULL ON IT. It can pop up with force, and end up breaking your nose! So be careful!
If your washing machine does not turn on lights or make noises, it probably has come to an end. You have correctly performed the necessary tests. Now I recommend that you request the services of a specialist. You will save time and money. Believe me.
I noticed the washed dose this if I run a bath sounds daft but it's like it's not getting enough water feed whilst I'm using water else where and once my bath turns off error message goes away
You may think u have checked all but underneath there is a black soft rubber hose and sometimes a sock can get sucked into this and stops draining worth a try if not maybe your pump is gone
Remove the hose to the sensor switch at the tub end and check for obstruction. The small container on the side of the tub may be clogged. Clean with a small drill or piece of wire.
The User Manual for this model was of no help ... other than to suggest unplugging the unit which you already did ...
I could not find specific error codes for your model ... but F06 on Hotpoint washers in general have two definitions for F06:
F06 - Door lock fault
Issue: Washing Machines door cannot be opened or closed / when the door is closed the machine the programme will not start.
F06 - Program selector dial
Since you are having door issues ... then I would say the door lock is indeed the problem.
Check to make sure there is not any debris in the door lock insert, but my guess is that is not your problem.
It could be the latch on the door or the lock switch mechanism in the machine housing. Odds are it is the locking mechanism
Here is a Hotpoint You Tube on how to replace ... but it is not for your specific model

Good luck with your troubleshooting!
Without testing I would suggest that the heating element has shorted to earth enough to take out the RCD.
You should test with a multimeter between the element and the outer sheath which should show 0 if Faulty and replace the element, otherwise it is something else in the circuit i.e. temperature cutout causing the earth leakage.
