maybe one of the buttons is stuck? a short circuit in the button is definite to cause that... i shocked my last monitor and it started doing that. I had to buy a new monitor, because my tech couldn't fix it because it was arcing

I had a similar problem whereas my monitor went to sleep mode after a few minutes. I'm running an HP LP 2065 in dual mode with another HP flat screen. However, I did resolve the issue after resetting the output settings.

How to do that:

• right mouse click on the desktop
• select graphic options
• output to
• extended desktop

Maybe some changings/modification will help you too.

I have a similar issue. Opened up the unit and found that a module on the power board had a small bit of the insulation melted, meaning that that module is overheating. It's just a matter of time before that module shorts out and the screen goes blank. The power board needs replaced.

it is definatley something to do with the graphics card. Or just the settings you have set it to. Have you tried pressing the auto set button on the monitor itself to see what happens? other to that if you can set the display settings to 1680 by 1050 and display it to highest 32bit. If it doesn't let you do this then you definatley have graphics card issues.

You always need a driver for things to work. Look in your device manager.
Right click (my computer) go to properties then device manager and look at you video to see if there is a question mark for the driver.

Sounds like it might be getting too hot and/or going bad. Not sure how to diagnose this without seeing it myself. That is the best that I can do. Your video card could be going bad. Try another video card on that monitor. This will be the only way to decide if it is the card or monitor. Try it on another machine and see what it does.

Unfortunately, the LCD screen of any screen is always the most expensive part of the monitor, and it usually costs as much as the monitor itself to buy, not including shipping and replacing (unless you plan to replace it yourself). I could not find any replacement screens myself, and they are very hard to find. My suggestion is to just buy a new one. Sorry.
