Screen has lost ability to place red in correct

Thank you for asking your question on Fixya!
I will surely help you but first please provide this info. Do the spots stay in the same place for all pages or do they move around when you use different applications. This has probably nothing to do with the Virus. I strongly suspect it is caused due to
a)Guassing(Magnetic effect on the monitor) that can happen if you have recently moved the monitor close to a strong magnetic field.
b)Dry solders. If you have recently moved the monitor somewhere then during the process a weak solder joint may have loosened up and causing this issue.
But please provide the info requested so that we can continue with diagnosis and repair.

Regards,
Sai.

Is video card/motherboard dead?

Do you normally "logon" to the computer or does it load completely by itself.
If you wait for the system to "settle" you can test the computer w/o the monitor:
1. Press the "windows logo" key on the lower left of your keyboard
2. Press the letter R
3 Type WRITE
4. Type a few random letters ~ran~dom~
5. Press this three key sequence:
[Alt]F [P]

(Alt & F) together then the P key

Your random document will print if the computer is actually running.

ok, I suggest you reset your BIOS by removing the mobo battery or by shorting the "reset" pins next to the nattery or BIOS chip.
Go from there...

Dark Screen

Hi

Not cleaning per sey but a tune up. CRT monitors have alot of things going on inside (high voltage and high heat). This causes parts to change value. You can send this to my company for a tuneup or take it to a local serviceman. The average price price should be +- $100.00.

Thanks

How can I connect my HP PAVILION DV7 1026TX 17 " laptop to 29" CR

Get a cheap short S-video cord and cut it open, The 2 wires inside are shielded with wire mesh. Go ahead and push the shielding down a couple of inches and twist both together, this will be the ground wire. Strip down the wires inside the insulated part left bare when you made the ground wire. Now twist those together and splice them into a piece of RCA (Yellow for video) connectors. It aint preety but it works!! The ground is the wire that goes to the outside ring and the other goes to the one with the point!

My Hp mx70 monitor Will rendor the color green as black

Dear Killkerson,

As i understand from the situation, Please do the following:

1. First confirm that the problem is with the monitor. You can do this by trying this monitor on any other CPU. If the monitor behaves Fine, the problem is with the Video Card (Nvidia in your case). If the monitor behaves the same way on other CPU as well, i recommend taking it to nearest service centre. Please Do Not open monitors yourself (Some CRT's may have a possiblity of electrocuting people because they can store a charge upto 25000 Volts in Capacitors). Better get that serviced by authorised people if it doesnt work on any other computer.

2. If the above monitor just works fine on any other machine, probably the problem lies with Video card adjustment.
Please Right click on an empty place on your desktop and click on Nvidia Control Panel. (or you can go to control panel and try to run the same from there).
you will see that Nvidia's video card utility will open. On the left hand side, you will find (depending on the model) 3 basic options.

1. 3D settings
2. Display
3. Video & television

Expand the Display option and select "Adjust desktop color settings" on the extreme right on the top, you will find an option of "Restore Defaults." Click on that and close the utility. Check if that has resolved the problem.

If not, please try resetting all the options back to Default on the Video control Panel one by one.

I am hopeful that it will solve your problem.

Feel free to contact me if it doesn't solve. I will try to help you till it does.

Have a wonderful day ahead.

Regards,
Techno-Geek.

Hp pavilion monitor not starting up

That will happen if the monitor isn't getting a video signal from the computer. Are you sure your computer is actually starting up properly? Are you hearing the normal Windows startup sounds? If the computer and Windows seem to be working properly, the video card or integrated video may have failed. Have you tried another monitor to verify that the computer is working?

If the monitor is in fact bad, it would be better to replace it than to try a repair. New LCD monitors are quite inexpensive and you'll gain lots of desk space.

I have a hp pavilion

i have experienced this problem before with a nec crt monitor and its permanent and can not be fixed with out having to flush money into it. personally i wold not deal with it. in this day in age era LCD monitors are almost dirt cheap plus if you put it this way which is more valuble to you your health? or your monitor. the reason asking this is because crt monitors outputs a high dose of radiation. partly the reason to produce lcd monitors they dont disapate heat like crts and they dont have all that radiation build up like crt monitors hold. so if you would rather have your health then get a lcd for sure.

I want to know if my monitor is Vista compatable

Yes, the monitor is Vista compatible. A monitor is just a display device, simply showing you what's coming from the computer's video card. That video circuitry is what would need to be compatible with Vista.

If you are upgrading an older computer by installing Vista, you might need to be concerned about video hardware compatibility. If you are upgrading by simply replacing the computer with a new one, it will already be Vista ready. In either case, the monitor will be fine.

Please take a moment to rate this solution if you've found it what you need, and thanks for asking here!

Pointer

ouchpad must be worn out if laptop is used for many years. But if that's not the case, I would suggest buying a USB mouse, and connecting it to the laptop. If that doesn't work, try taking it to a nearby computer store, or somewhere you can trust to get it fix.
My old laptop had the similar problem, took it to a place and they cleaned and added a new touch pad for it. Good luck.
