Hp monitor black screen

Check for the updated drivers as well as your video card, if you have an internal video card and have tested it (your computer) on another monitor it is more than likely the inverter in the monitor the coils (on the mainboard) need to be resoldered more than likely.
Check the backlight as well

HP Pavalion F1503 15"

A quick Google search turned up a couple of sources for generic replacements:

http://www.lcdparts.net/CCFL1.aspx

and

http://www.ccflsurplus.com/laandmoba.html

Looks like they might be promising. A possible source for the original HP part might be Vance-Baldwin (www.vancebaldwin.com). I have purchased other HP parts from them.

NEED HELP WITH AUTO CONFIGURATION

You can download a copy of the manual from hp by going here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=324216&os=228&lang=en&

and picking the "monitor user's guide" link.

The auto configuration is just a choice from the main menu. If your monitor OSD is locked so you can't select anything (you get a message when you press any button), you can follow the manual procedure to unlock it. But unless there is some electronic problem with the monitor, you should not be having trouble with autoconfiguration.

There are four adjustable options on the OSD settings screen: Lock OSD settings, Timeout, H Position, and V Position.
To change OSD settings:
1 Open the OSD setting screen under the Advanced menu. See
“Using the On Screen Display” on page 25.
2 Press the Browse buttons to select the option you want to adjust.
3 Press the Select button to check the option.
To change OSD lock setting:
1 Press the Browse button to select yes (lock) or no (unlock). The
setting is automatically saved when you change the value.

the OSD Main Menu or press the Menu button to exit OSD.

Screen flickers, turns on and off

Hi, My name is Kevin and I may suggest that the inverter be replaced. Usually when you replace the tubes the inverter should be replace also. It is hard to find replacement parts for some of them but they do make universal ones that work with most monitors. Now we need to know if it is bad or the tubes are now bad. The tubes last on an average of 33,000 hours. They are not easy to replace if you have never done this before. Here is a link to the same type of solution. When you get to the tubes they will be black on the ends like a normal florescent bulb if they are bad or hook them ut to the new inverter to see if they light. http://www.fixya.com/support/t859266-koss_kld2700_lcd_tv_no_picture All lcd monitors work somewhat the same , as I can see from your measurements , you seem to now something about electronics so you can try this yourself. It will cost about $50.00 to DIY or $100.00 for someone else.
I have purchased from the site in hong kong and lcd parts.com and they are reliable. You can take the screen apart , on the top and bottom of the LCD you will find encased in a aluminum frame a long cf tube that looks like a long tube florescent light bulb but the thickness of less than a ball point pen refill and averages in lenght of the screen size. They are VERY fragile and does not take much to break in half.....I hope you can get it going again and as always you really feel good when you do it yourself. You learn allot about it . I know purchase only Samsung with the built in LED lights , last longer then the tubes by far . When you tear into the monitor, set up a static work station with a wrist strap and plenty of light , paper, pens, notes and even take step by step photos works well. Good luck and I hope this helped you some.

Need Help Setting Up Monitor

Basically the monitor wants your video card to feed it the display at a resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels. The 60Hz is the frequency and is standard for lcd monitors. Since the monitor is designed for 1024X768, it is shutting itself off in order to prevent damage.

To change your resolution (I'm assuming you have Windows), right click on a blank area on your desktop and select Properties from the list that pops up. The Display Properties windows will open, click on settings and change it to 1024X768. Next click on the Advanced button and then the Monitor tab and make sure the refresh rate is set to 60 Hertz

HP Pavilion 17" screen flashes on and off

Try reinstalling your monitor. You should have a disc that came with all of your equipment.Make sure it is a clean install and there are no other programs running. Also check all connections to make sure they are tight.

If this does not help, do you have another monitor you can install temporarily so that you can work on this problem?

Is this a new monitor installation? You might want to check your hardware compatibility list which you will find under Start>Programs>accessories>compatibility wizard.
