I have a Panasonic HDC-SD10PP camcorder, it came with HD Writer AE 1.5 software. After I download to the computer, the video does not playback smoothly. I have been trying to update the software. O
First, find out what format and settings your footage was shot with. Compare it with what your software program is set to. As far as possible, you want to keep everything the same. Especially the framerate settings. Also, if your camera shoots in NTSC and the software works in PAL, you will definately have bad video. Keep the formats the same, whatever you choose. Also, since this is HD footage, try and lower the resolution from 1080 to 720. 720 is still very good for home videos and the file size will be smaller. Get good software, I use Hitfilm Express. It's free and they give a lot of help and support on their youtube channel.

Looks like u trying mixing PAL and NTSC somehow. Either the camera or the PC setup is wrong.

It is more than likely a belt. Probably a square type belt. They typically have a life span of a decade or so but when they start to go they go quick. Letting them sit around unused for periods will actually make them more prone to die. A service manual is a best bet - try google searching or eBay - but you can track down the parts via Sears Parts direct. There are several parts sourced on line but I have great luck with Sears. Enter the make and model and see what it lists. Common things like belts for vcr, cassette decks, vid cameras, were used in many different things over time so they actually have stuff in stock still. Also check YouTube for how-to videos, as most of these repairs are common and similar process for different machines.
