It would likely be your igniter/glow plug.
There is also a limit switch or thermostat for that glow plug on some models which can go bad, but it is usually the igniter itself. Quite cheap to buy most of the time.

You need a high temperature silicone adhesive specific for the job. No point using epoxies, they will not give you a long term solution and you will waste time and money.
This company makes a glass oven door repair kit that will do the job for you.

I have checked rhe Hotpoint website for your model oven and cannot find it listed.
So I can only assume that you are not in the u/k. you will have to check with your Hotpoint service agent wherever you are, but normally they are available as a spare part..
Sorry I can't help you further.

Did you unplug so oven will will reset?

This is a code for an over temp condition.
If the oven is cool then there is a problem in the sensor circuit, usually a failed temp sensor.
Post back if you have any questions.

Hotpoint SY21... | Answered on Jun 28, 2008

if the oven cooled down and door still wont open unplug oven for 15minutes and see if that helps ive seen in many cases were the door had to be destroyed to gain access to the oven

It is possible that the lever has been bent somehow. If you can lift the top of the oven as if you were cleaning it. look at the lever mechanism, move it to the other position and push it back carefully, to bend it back. I have seen this happen a lot, people lean on the oven, the lever is in the open position and it is pushed a little bending it so when it is moved to close it doesn't go far enough to release it. I am assuming you have waited for the oven to cool down before you tried this first right?

Very well could be, but I would check the heating element. Unless you have tools and skill to check you will need to call for service.
Given the situation in UK you may be better served using main oven if possible.
