Why can't I find a driver for my NV-GS40B driver
sometimes if you let the win8 os do the search for you it finds the driver
switch the camera off and plug the lead into the camera and pc
switch on the camera and it should show a notice of plug and ply installed
then it will say searching for driver
if it finds one it will automatically install it through the windows wizard --just follow the prompts

Japanese to English?
1.find a japanese person and ask him to do it for you
2.find an english manual and follow the same steps
3.find an online translator and try to translate the steps
(those are working if your camera support english language)

How to take the tape out from camcorder with no battery?
It depends.
If you want to keep using the camcorder, you should buy a proper AC adapter.
On the other hand, any repair depot will gladly take the tape out for you, either for a modest fee or even for free if you offer them the camcorder.

well i could have help more but you didnt tell me what is the problem...soo cant help more then:
if the "camcorder keeps on saying that i need to get it serviced"
then my guess is :
GET IT SERVICED ASAP!! you got a wedding to catch....
