Nikon Speedlight SB-800 TTL Flash - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My SB800 will not fire. It comes on, but the flash
When you shoot like crazy, like shoot with a very low ISO and take many flash photos the flash works hard. You can hear the recharge cycle and it takes a while to recharge and get the red LED back on. So you were using the flash and it got HOT. When it gets HOT it shuts down. It is supposed to STOP working when it gets hot. If you want to shoot like crazy you have to get the flash a break and shoot a higher ISO.
How do i change from remote ttl on my nikon sb800.
Press the Menu button. Scroll to the Custom Setting Menu. Scroll to "e Bracketing/flash". Right arrow and scroll down to "e3 Flash cntrl for built-in flash" and push the center button. You now have access to the TTL, Manual, Repeating flash and Commander modes. Right arrow on CMD and a menu will appear that allows you to set up the built in flash and the external flash groups.

The flash has settings you will have to read your manual
the camera does the exposers not the flash
set your cameras appuatue to a high number and speed fast then shoot if you knew how to use your camera you would know the flash is uesd for filling in shadows and imitating the sun which is bright. Good luck

How do i change from remote to ttl
Hi John, if you keep pressing the mode button, the various settings will show on the screen. Then press SEL, (select), in the centre of the control button to lock it.
How do I get rid of the redish tint on all images in low light using this flash?
I could be wrong, but I would switch to the manual mode and turn off the automatic features since the red light is actually an inferred sensor used to determine when enough light has fallen on the subject and tell the flash to terminate. By going to manual, you remove the need for the circuitry to tell the detector to turn on.
