Have you tried a different disc? Defective media is a possibility. The other option is that there is dust/debris inside that is blocking the disc sensor. You could use some canned air to carefully blow out the area.

You can get a video grabber (google video grabbers) and connect the RCA cable to the camera and the grabber USB cable to your computer. Run the grabber software and play the tape so the grabber can record the video from the tape in the camera.

try removing the battery from the camcorder which resets the unit. If not try holding reset for 3 sec and it should work then all you need to do is set defaults date time ect

It could be a dodgy Charger, if it has a problem and not kicking out enough power, it will think that the battery has power equal to that of the charger, i.e. fully charged altho' it isnt, and cut off, making it appear to all be working. If its a mini USB type charger you could try a different one from something else they are all 5v, but some draw more current (mA).

Im not sure about your computer setup. Are you capturing via usb or have dedicated video capture device? Do you have sound when connected camera to tv. Does your video capturing device require to supply sound separate for example from camera headphone jack to video capture device?

try this find the web site for the handicam find a download for your model that is compatible with win 10 and download it if you have win 10 and win 8 on the same pc hard drive then there could be a conflict in drivers for the cam as well

use a plastic knife or, long hard similar piece of plastic to pry the battery out
