Sony CCD-TRV238 Camcorder - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Sony hi8 video cam trying to record onto cd's through Sony dvd pl
Yellow connection for camcorder is your video output, the other one is for audio. If your DVD recorder does not have composite video inputs you will have to get an adapter to attach to your yellow wire and the other end of adapter will go to your recorder. OK?
Hi.
My camcorder wont play any tape for more
This can be caused by several problems including the transmission gear in the tape mechanism not engaging properly or a defective clutch in the take-up spool and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.
My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

PLayback of NTSC tapes
Hi,
Not on the same brand/model but on another that is only PAL/Secam compatible. Video is squeezed top & bottom, black & white, high speed audio.
Hope this be of some help/idea.
Good luck and kind regards.
Playback
if the camera is going on in the play mode and you are getting a blue screen with play indicator it is mostly due to dirty head. what have you used for cleaning the head. take the help of repairer for cleaning as he will do so after opening the cover. if that doesent solves the problem then get the video head checked for any damages such as broken tips.

The display on the Sony Handycam DCRSX63 does not snap.
If the display on your Sony Handycam DCRSX63 is not functioning properly, there are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
- Check the battery - Make sure the battery is fully charged and properly installed in the Handycam. If the battery is low, the display may not function properly.
- Check the connections - Make sure all connections between the Handycam and the display are secure and not damaged.
- Reset the Handycam - You can try resetting the Handycam by turning it off and then on again. This can sometimes resolve any issues with the display.
- Update the software - If you have not done so recently, you may want to try updating the software on the Handycam. You can download the latest software from the Sony website.

Sony DCR-VX1000 won't leave standby mode
Hi,
Please double check that your camera has well-charged power source and has enough memory or capacity to record new data. Since the camera was sold starting around 1995, this would be a tape. If there is no more tape to record, then you would run into the issue that you've mentioned above. But there are other possibilities as well.
Thank you.

Sony DCRA-C121 play back tapes
Take them into a camera shop and ask for them to be put onto a memory stick in .mov format.
Or buy one on the secondhand market, Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, or eBay.

Sony Handicam CD-TRV128 wont accept tape
If you mean Sony CCD-TRV128 they have been obsolete for a good length of time now.
The main issue with these, back 20 years ago, was the door catch.
It gets bent from misalignment or forcing the door closed. Sometimes it can be fixed but often as it is so old, spares are no longer available.
