Hi.

1) Remove the memory card and test again. Ensure that camera is not set to record on SD card. See pages 21 and 48 on manual

2) Reset the camera to factory settings. See page 40 on manual.

3) Format the hard drive. Use the built in FORMAT function in camcorder menu. See page 20 on manual

If you still get the problem after performing the steps above, then the camera hard drive is defective. In that case call JVC at the number listed on manual.

it is stuffed up if it as warrenty send it get it repaired if it doesn't give it to a proffesional to repair it for a cheap price...

I answered same problem like you have now. Just in case you don't find it. I hope you are familiar with these things technically. Open the set up-to where the lens can be accessed, remove the iris unit and clean those two curtain(shutter), for sure it's stucked up. You san test it by moving it open manually and it must close when released. To clean, you have to remove these curtain out from the assy. Spray with head cleaning agent or any alcohol base cleaner and dry.Test iris unit first to make sure its ok before assembling. Good Luck

I had the same problem, it was the switch. I opened it up and resoldiered the joints. This fixed the problem for a while but it went back the same way. I wouldn't advise doing this yourself as I did it a few time, now it is broke as I ended up meltying the switch and it snapped. Get a professional to do it.

Replace the CCD Base Assy.

I would first check the audio heads. Try a cleaning tape. If the tape fails to resolve the problem, have the unit cleaned professionally.

Hi, I think your battery is 100% OK, if the power supply is perfect there may be problem with the switch, clean it with contact cleaner spray often press the switch several times. if the switch contacts are not connecting, this will help it to clear it. open the cam, check the power supply on the main board, there is a small fuse on the circuit board test it with. eventually we have to suspect the mother board. if so should change it.
