My camera does not show what i have taped
Regarding no picture in playback is problem mostly of dirty / clogged video head in Sony handy-cam and can be corrected by using good quality video head cleaning tape.
As far as memory stick picture concern, I think lost pictures (42)would be in other folder on memory stick.
Camera always returns to telephoto position
W-T switch is defective and requires replacement,
above part can be demanded under following part number for DCR-TRV320 camcorder...
1-418-799-11 SWITCH BLOCK, CONTROL (FK-10000)
If you have different model camcorder, let me know to provide you appropriate part number.

Hi, The the door cannot be fixed. You need to replace it. It's called a switch block control ***'y.
Ask if you need a part number.

Playback is very jumpy! just gave it a wack and it worked?
Hi Rick, There are no converters to vhs or dvd. You would have to dissassemble the unit, remove all connectors and then re-seat all the connectors rhat you removed. Assemble unit and test. This could solve your no video playback problem.

Try this (seems to be a standard thing from Sony):
- Turn off the camcorder.
- Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
- Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
- Turn on the camcorder.
- If an error message appears, service may be required. If the error ,message starts with an "E" it needs to be sent in.
Go to any large photo shop and get an estimate.
Firewire Port not working
HAVE YOU HAD THE CAMCORDER ON THE MAINS ADAPTOR WHEN IT WAS CONNECTED TO THE FIREWIRE AS IT HAS TO BE TO POWER THE FIREWIRE PORT!
Battery/Camera problem
Return the battery to Radioshack and try another brand of replacement battery.
It is possible that the Radioshack battery is in stock for a long period of time. batterries have limited shelf life and it gets worse if they are left discharged for a long period of time.

The best thing you can do now is to take it to a specialist and get them to do the repairs. Camcorders have a lot of electronics in them and can be easily damaged if your a not an experienced repairer. You might also have to consider that this camcorder might not be repairable.
Blue screen on TRV260 playback

Acetone is a powerful solvent capable of dissolving plastic parts, plastic gears, housing and insulation.
Besides that, it leaves a residue of microscopic crystals which have probably contaminated the highly-polished metal head drum.
Not to mention gumming up the bushes and bearings.
With your next camera, rather use a head-cleaner DV-tape.
