I would suggest that you get the device serviced by the manufacturer.

There is, however, a way which has many reporting success.

You will need to solder the dew sensor to reset it and it might help you.

This process involves using the soldering iron and you should only attempt if you are handy with those. The incorrect use can render the camera in need of a big repair.

Go to the Sharp website and check your models compatibility with Windows 7. The may have a fix .

You can use the windows formatting software that is on the pc, you need a memory card reader and once the computer sees the memory card after you insert it just right click on the card and choose format. I hope this helps.

A web blog indicated that it's a "dew" error, indicating moisture inside the camera, and disabling it, so the tape will not be damaged. Some solutions have been to resolder the dew sensor contacts, or let it dry out thoroughly (high humidity may have been affecting it). Here is the whole blog. There wasn't any information for your model, specifically, but they are the same in similar devices. When it comes up, do the "edit", "find on this page" thing...and type 007. The solutions people had show up about 2/3 down the page:

Your unit sounds like it has a faulty Mode Switch and or the tape load/Unload Motor Driver assembly, this is usually what gives this sort of symptom. This is NOT something that could be done by a home Fixer as special tools are required to disassemble and repair this type of Fault.
My professional advice is to take the unit to a Sharp authorised service center, contact a local or head office and ask for a referral to a good reliable local agent. and when you take it in, then ask them, for a "Quote" for a repair, that way you can get an idea as to costings and weather to repair or replace. As these days even seemingly small repair can end up costing a lot. often the money would be better spent towards a new unit with a warranty.

Are you sure this is a SHARP camcorder?


if you have imovie installed it might work right out of the box without any extra software - with wirefire, or does this one only have USB?

You can buy it from ebay for $10.

Try going to Sharps website if theres no drivers available you may have to use a product called Dazzle which will allow you to transfer video to your computer via USB.its available from best buy and online

This error code occurs when one of the reels (Supply Reel) is unable to be turned by the tape drive system when it should. This can be due to a faulty motor, damaged gear/s, objects fouling the tape spools, cracked or damaged spools. May also be caused by a faulty tape if this only occurs when a cassette is loaded.

Hi there,

Please follow the below steps to remove the stuck tape -

1. Plug your camcorder into the power cords and attach to a power source. Try the Eject button when the camcorder is fully powered up. Press the Eject button until the cavity opens fully before attempting to take the cassette out.
 
2. Power off your camcorder. Remove the battery from the camcorder.
 
3. Move the camcorder's power switch to the "On" position.
 
4. Leave the tape door open. After thirty minutes replace the battery with the power button still in the "On" position and the tape door open.
 
5. Close the tape door and press "Eject."

Your camcorder is 8mm model, there is no adapter exists. It is impossible tp play 8mm tape on VHS machine.
