You will need to contact the camcorder company and see if they have an up date for the Vista compadability as this is a problem with alot of devices since microsoft pulled this stinker of a program on us. Good luck

ur camera have a FireWire / DV / i.Link interface so all u need is a cable and a Firewire card for ur PC if it is desktop u can find it cheap like 20 $ if it is laptop may be it is included see ur laptop then it is a bit expensive like 80 $ u can search for it on internet it is like mini usb and called FIRWIRE 1394 card i can assist u more on this if u like

Hi,
Check if it has the firewire port. If so, you can get a 4 pin firewire cable and connect to the PC.
Switch on the Cam.
Open Windows Movie Maker and import video from device.


4 pin firewire would look like this:

You can use the Movie maker to burn it to the Disk

You need a new lcd ribbon cable this is a common problem

that is what we called ribbon cable. it is very thin and fragile and it is only available in an authorized service center of that brand. bring it there for sure they have that part.

The ribbon cable to the lcd from the camera cracks and causes what you are talking about .
Normally the camera will still work buy using the eye viewfinder for recording and playback but you will not hear the sound unless the lcd door is open but then the picture in the viewfinder goes away when this door is open and comes back when it is closed

hi there macker2. i have resolved the problem myself and have E-mailed my instructions to three others to date.. the manual can be downloaded but does not give detailed instructions as to how to take apart or betterstill. to put back together!!! if you need instructions to do this yourself i will be happy to send.. [email protected].. others have managed with no problems. takes a little patients and time....stefan

The company says it supports 1 gb mem stick pro. I have read where it will support larger, like 2-4 gb. Please verify this before yo buy

Problem is fixable and not expensive either : CCD sensor is faulty and needs replacing.You do have a case for having this problem sorted out by Samsung agent free of charge because the sensor should last 10 years +.

Someone here recommended on another post to put the lense cap on & videotape the blackness in a quiet room for 5-10 mins. I tried this as a last resort & it worked. When I played back the tape, no more skipping or gray lines. I had 4-5 SOLID gray lines with skipping video & audio in between on every tape I put in. I think the person who helped me solve this said that it was a result of the tape alignment going off. My camera is a Canon zr80 digital camcorder. (Called Canon, they had me reset it & then recommended sending it in).

Did you try going to the menu and selecting auto? I have found that I need to remove the battery prior to doing any additional options. I think this camera is good but tricky.

In order to transfer the taped video, the software that came with the camera, has to be installed. Once this is done, plug your camera into the computer, using the USB cord, and it should be recognized, and the software program should kick in and you can then transfer the files. Sometimes you will have to go to the actual drive itself and copy the images over to your folder of choice.
