If there is no signal in the area.
I mean, if the problem is extended to more than one TV set, then call the TV provider company.
If the problem is concerning cable TV (eg. NTL, Virgin), then a local node may be faulty.
If the problem is only on your TV, and the TV has no signal, or static, then check aerial, aerial cables, receiver box and signal booster if present.
If you use cable TV, check wires and receiver box.
If you have Sky TV, then check if you have sat signal, check box and cables.
If you do not find anything wrong call TV company.
If instead your TV stays off with power led on or blinking, then the TV is in fault mode (protect).
Try leaving the TV unplugged from power for one hour. If that does not fix the problem, then call the number listed on the owners manual for support, or ring a local technician.
