Apple Cinema HD Display 30'' black screen, power light blinking

I don't know what might have happened, but a number of years ago I had an apple monitor and the power light on it started blinking, so I got in touch with apple and they told me that it's flashing an error code, so they told me what the blinking indicated and fixed it.

So I think the blinking of the power light on your monitor could be indicating an error code so I suggest you call apple and they will identify what the error is indicating.

30" apple cinema display suddenly went blank.

It's probably the backlight. If you look very closely, perhaps using a flashlight, you might be able to see that it is still working but just not being lit up from the back. In that case it may be worth fixing, but if not, then it's probably past its useful life. One other thing you might try is a different power supply.

My 30 inch Apple HD Cinema Display is stuttering/flickering upon opening video in full screen mode. Any idea on what the problem may be?

Check your connection to the screen. You may have a running application / process that requires a lot of processing power from your Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). If you wait until the application has completed its task, or quit the program, videos should run fine.

Apple Cinema 30 display powers on but nothing on a screen.

Try to shine aflashlight on the screen and seeif you see an image. I have a Apple cinema HD 30 (A1083). I have no power. I checked the power supply and it is good. I bought a main board from ebay. I still had the same problem so I returned it (minus a 15% restocking fee). I read somewhere that you have to have the usb cables plugged into the computer for it to work. Is this true? If so I may have returned the part I needed to make this monitor work. (just my luck) I bought this monitor for $25 used off craigslist. I am really excited to get this working. I have heard great things about how fantastic the dispay is. I am ready to do some gaming on it. I am an electronic technician but not so familar with this apple monitor. I figured I would turn to this forum to learn from some apple experts out there. Any imput would be wonderful in troubleshooting my problem.thanksTommy

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Is the monitor near a speaker or in any magnetic interference? If it is, I strongly suggest that you move the lcd a little farther. If it still fails then the problem will be on the monitor itself. It's better to get a replacement than repairing for it will surely cost you.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I am geeting lines in the center

I try a different video cable. Sometimes a wire goes bad or pin gets bent.

The more likely cause is simply a bad monitor. If it is still under hardware warranty I would say look into getting a replacement. Depending on how expensive a new one is versus how much a repair costs I would explorer those options. There is nothing that can be done in software though, it is a hardware issue.

My Apple Cinema 30" comes

1.Check the socket at the back, its possible that the socket or the connection from the power cable to the socket is loose. just make sure that you connect it properly.

2. Another possible cause is that your machine is overheating. Capacitors will pop if overheating occurs. The only way to resolve this is to change faulty capacitors.

Hopefully its not #2 ... happy 4th of july...
