BenQ FP737-D 17" LCD monitor
IT almost sounds if the monitor itself is overheating? Have you tried shutting the monitor off for 15 or so minutes then turning it back on? It may also be a video card overheating issue. Make sure your PC and Monitor both have adequate ventilation.
IF this doesn't help the situation, try updating the video drivers as well.
White screen
dreaded capacitor issue. benq's were famous for it. if you are handy with disassembly and careful you can take it apart and do it yourself. look for any capacitors with rounded tops. i fixed one ... the part is only two dollars or so but it's a good feeling to know you fixed it instead of tossing it.

Benq fp737s monitor failure
try resoldering the joints on c826 &c824 near the 4 yellow transformers in the power supply.
hope this helps

Light is green, but monitor just goes on for a split second then it goes off.
density,
I agree from what you have described it might be the inverter board, however, I wouldn't start tearing and replacing based on your description just yet. With the computer on and the monitor power LED green shine a flashlight in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Look for the Windows ?Start? button, if your backlight and/or the inverter board is not working you?ll see a faint ?start? button if you look closely. If that is the case I wouldn't recommend randomly re-soldering or replacing parts on the inverter board. Unless you physically see damage or have the ability to trouble shoot the failure to a discrete component I would suggest replacing the entire board if it is economically worth it. Depending on the monitor this is usually an economically repairable problem.

Resolder the power transistors on inverter board and also check them.If display is not there at all some of this 4 transistors C5707 should be defective.Check associated fuse and Fet which drives the transistor.
Also check with Benq ,Normally offers three year warranty.

LCD panel no display
check transistors Q739,740,759,760.These transistors are near the Yellow inverter transformers.Resolder these transformers and check/ replace above transistors.

Benq fp737s monitor dead
check transistors Q739,740,759,760.What you are refering to are capacitors in powersupply section. These transistors are near the 4 yellow invertors near the backlight connection sockets.

Hello Guys!
The problems you face may relate to the key switch panel, one or more of the key seems to be leaky.Clean all switches with switch cleaning fluid like WD40 or most reliable solution is replacing all these switches.

Still no display
Is there a diode on the other side of the transistor? That could have gone as well (if my electronics repair hasn't failed me yet!!) That is just a stab in the dark. Sorry I couldn't be more help, but it has been quite a few years (15 at least!).
Wiress mixed up :(
The wires your looking at are for the CCFL
They plug into power board on the same side they are on (the right looking from the front)
You may have a bit of silver paper covering where they connect so you cannot see it.
They feed up from between the screen and through holes that are near where the connectors are.
Be careful when plugging them in though, they only go in one way and forcing them will cause them to break.

Replace the bulging caps:
C 701; 1000UF @ 35V
C 704; 1000UF @ 16V
other caps that may test weak and should be replaced are:
C727; 47UF @ 25V
C613; 10UF @ 50V
Monitor doesnt work
Replace 3A PF### fuse on main board. (reason for the # is because I have put the monitor together and cant remember the component number) I could see with a torch the initial display on power up. The PCB has white writing on it to display what component should be on the board. All PFs on the board have wire links on them but one. It looks Iike a black cylinder, 7mm long, and 3mm diammeter. The green writing on it was "bel MS 3A". I would have found this fuse earlier, but the writing was facing down on the board. This fuse powers the circuit to the back lights. Please check continuity of fuse before replacing back lights, as a 10 cent fuse is cheeper than backlights.
Fuses WILL blow for no reason. I have replaced it with a 5A for testing, and everything checked out OK. Also the monitor powered up and has been running fine.
Blank scren, led stays green for only one second
Explicit enough to see that's this a a repair shop job. That also probably means a replacement- cost of which will not be much more than repair prices.
One thing how ever- the power supply[which would appear to be the problem] is this built into the screen [that is does the screen have mains power direct? Or is it powered from an external 'Power Brick'
If it is of the Power Brick type - then a new power supply is the answer - get on of the stabilized universal type with a fistful of connectors and a voltage selector switch.
