Can you use hi 8 tape in the ES900 Analog

I believe this camcorder is 8mm only, so you won't be able to use a Hi8 tape with it. They will not play right in your camcorder.

Canon es900 8mm camcorder won't allow tape insertion

Canon ES series camcorder was designed with 1000 hour capacitors on the processor boards. When the time comes these capaictors loose value and create problems for the main computer to communicate with other mechanical system in the camcorder. We were able to service well 7 years ago but the life of these component has aged too much to make it good anymore. I wish I have a better news for you but the success repair on 'ES model is very slim and if repaired, the labor charge may run many times over of the value of this camcorder. You can probably obtain a newer used camcorder at decent price and get all you tapes into DVD quick. Good luck -James

Convert my canon es900 video to dvd

If you have a video card that has a video in port, plug in your 8mm camcorder and capture the movie. Depending on the quality you save it as determines the size of the file.
This is the simplest way in leiu of paying to have it done or "projecting" the image onto another media physically.
There are machines designed to do this of course but they're not cheap. If you know someone with a Digital8 camcorder. Sony D8 backward support V8 and Hi8, so you can just simply insert the V8/Hi8 tapes into the D8 camcorder, then transer them to computer in DV format through firewire cable.
Let me know if this helped

1. Remove the two small screws from the tape door face. I show the entire carriage removed.
2. Look for the small metal peg on the left side, about 1” down from the top of the tape carriage.
3. Using something small push down on the peg to release the tape door.
4. Important Note: Most likely the tape will still be wrapped around the video head and held there by two capstans, (one on each side of the head)
5. Carefully pull out the tape not damage it any more than necessary. Keep in mind this might cause the player to “eat” the tape at this area so smooth the tape here with your fingers (nothing metal) and wind the tape to begin playing past this area if possible.
It seems this is a common problem with this unit; Canon should have put a better motor here in this critical area.
Good luck, hope this helps everyone,

Self-eject

Hi there, I think I can offer some info, though it's not good news.
This cassette ejection is controled by a small motor in the bottom of the cassette carriage (see picture). Unfortunatly whether the problem be this cheap little motor or a switch that controls it, taking it to a repair shop would cost much more than this little camcorder is worth.8477600.jpg Sorry for the bad news, I have the same camera as you can see it's taken apart now. I posted another solution to get the tape out if you come to that problem.

Hope this helps

How to remove a tape out of a canon es55 that will not power up even if the battery is charged

If you suspect that your JVC camcorder may have been damaged by plugging in the wrong power cord, it's possible that the cassette mechanism may not release as intended. However, you can try the following steps to manually release the cassette:
  1. Turn off the camcorder: Make sure the camcorder is turned off and unplugged from any power source.
  2. Locate the cassette release button: The cassette release button is usually located on the side or bottom of the camcorder near the cassette compartment. It may be labeled "eject" or have a symbol that looks like a triangle with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Press the cassette release button: Press and hold the cassette release button for several seconds to see if it releases the cassette. You may need to press it firmly or use a pointed object like a pen or pencil to press it.
  4. Manually release the cassette: If the cassette release button does not work, you can try manually releasing the cassette. Look for a small hole on the camcorder near the cassette compartment. This hole may be labeled "emergency release" or have a symbol that looks like a triangle with an arrow pointing down. Insert a straightened paperclip or similar object into the hole and press gently to release the cassette.
If you are unable to manually release the cassette, it's possible that the camcorder has been damaged beyond repair.

Need help understanding a transfer from the Canon MV830i camcorder to Macbook

  1. To transfer video footage from your Canon MV830i camcorder to your Macbook, you will need a FireWire cable and a FireWire USB adapter. This cable connects the camcorder to your computer, and the adapter allows the FireWire connection to be recognized by your Macbook. You can find this cable and adapter on Amazon or other electronics retailers.
  2. To transfer the footage to your computer, you can use the built-in iMovie software on your Macbook. This software lets you capture the footage from your camcorder and import it into the program for editing.
  3. You can reuse the tapes by recording the footage you have already captured. Make sure you have transferred the footage to your computer before recording it.
  4. Some other advice:
  • Make sure your camcorder is in VCR or VTR mode before connecting it to your computer.
  • Test the connection and transfer process before filming important footage.
  • Check the manual of the camcorder for detailed instructions on how to transfer footage.
  • Be patient; transferring footage from a camcorder to a computer can take some time.
Remember that transferring footage from a camcorder to a computer can be a bit complicated, but with some patience and practice, you'll get the hang of it. Remember always to consult the manual of the camcorder for detailed instructions and always keep your computer and software updated.

My CANON MV940 DIGITAL VIDEO CAMCORDER cant charge.....when i plug it in the battery charge indicator does not flash or light up

If your Canon MV940 digital video camcorder is not charging when you plug it in, there are a few things you can check to try to determine the cause of the issue:
  1. Check the power adapter: Make sure that the power adapter is securely plugged into the camcorder and that the outlet you are using is working. Also, check that the adapter is not damaged or malfunctioning.
  2. Check the battery: Make sure that the battery is inserted correctly and that it is not damaged or worn out. If the battery is old or has been used for a long time, it may no longer hold a charge and will need to be replaced.
  3. Check the charging port: Make sure that the charging port on the camcorder is clean and free of debris. If there is debris blocking the port, use a soft-bristled brush or a can of compressed air to clean it out.
  4. Check the battery terminals: Make sure that the terminals on the battery are clean and free of debris or oxidation. Clean the terminals using a soft-bristled brush or a pencil eraser.
  5. Check the firmware: If the problem persists, check to see if your camcorder's firmware is up to date. If it isn't, update it.
If you've tried all of these steps and you still cannot charge your camcorder, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with the camera. In this case, you may need to contact Canon support for further assistance. https://amzn.to/3WisSDI

My Canon ZR-40 Mini DV Camcorder only has a blank screen when in VCR mode. Cannot use any VCR functions. When I try to record, it says 'No Card' but there is no slot for an SD card at all.

It's possible that the video head is dirty or damaged, which is preventing the camcorder from playing back tapes. You may need to clean or replace the video head. As for the "No Card" message, it may be a default message that appears when the camcorder cannot detect a tape. Check that the tape is inserted correctly and try a different tape to see if the issue persists. If the problem continues, it may be a more serious issue with the camcorder that requires professional repair.

Canon es55 video camera. Everytime I put a tape in, it ejects it. If I take the tape out, and close the door,it will will automatically close and stay closed

Hi, Please first make sure that there is nothing within the video camera that was accidentally lodged into the space where the tape would fit. Also, please double check that you're orienting the video tape properly when inserting it into the video camera. I would also test different tapes to see if the issue is consistent. Also, you might have to rewind each tape because I think if the tape is at it's end, then it automatically leads to the tape being spit out. Thank you.

Canon vixia recording with color problems

If you are experiencing color problems while recording with your Canon Vixia camcorder, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Make sure that the camcorder is properly focused. If the focus is off, the colors may appear distorted or blurry.
  2. Check the lighting conditions. If the lighting is too dim or too bright, the colors may appear distorted or washed out.
  3. Check the white balance settings on your camcorder. If the white balance is not set correctly, the colors in the video may appear inaccurate.
  4. Clean the camcorder's lens to remove any dirt or smudges that may be affecting the image quality.
  5. If you are using an external device, such as a monitor or TV, to view the video, make sure that it is properly calibrated.
If you have tried these steps and are still experiencing color problems with your camcorder, you may want to try contacting Canon customer service for further assistance. They will be able to provide you with more specific troubleshooting steps based on your particular camcorder and the issues you are experiencing.
