My gateway computer power light
Hello,
I don't think this has anything to do with the monitor since it is showing "no signal". this is an indication that the monitor is working.
Problem is from the connection between the computer and the monitor or from the computer itself.
Check the VGA cable and make sure it is firmly fixed into the computer and monitor.
Open the computer case, disconnect the keyboard, mouse, and every other thing apart from the VGA cord, then try again.
If there is still no signal, turn computer off again, remove it's power cord, then remove the system Ram, clean it and fix it back in. Then make sure the VGA card is well fixed into the mother board. After that, connect only he VGA cord and try again.
If non of the above seems to work, connect the computer to another monitor, and connect the monitor to another computer in other to confirm which is having a fault so that we can focus on it.
Keep me posted.
Good luck.
Why wont myhp lcd monitor
If your monitor is showing no vga input, here are a few things to check.
1. Verify that you are using a vga cable.
HERE2. Make sure the connections are tight on both the monitor and your video card.
3. Verify that your video card is securely inserted into your motherboard.
4. If you have both onboard vga and a vga video card, try switching the cord to the other.
I hope this helps. Any feed back you can give me about what happens when you try these, i will look over and try and help some more.

Hi
I'm assuming you replaced the screen because it was broken? If so then the new screen (backlit included) is bad and/or you missed a connection. Now, did you replace the screen because you had no backlit? If so this falls into a whole different category. I've repaired a lot of these monitors and it seems that for the most part the power supply capacitors and the inverter driver cause more problems than any other part. Did you test the inverter before replacing the screen? These easiest way to determine if the inverter is putting out power is to hold the DVM leads above the inverter output while its set to AC. You should get a significant reading (there is no correct indication because this is actually inaccurate. Testing the output directly would bog down the inverter to the point of giving a useless reading. If this reading is high then the inverter is working and the lamp is the problem. If there is no reading at all here then the power supply is at fault. Good luck
I bought a sva montior and it was new i had it 3
You are lucky that it lasts 3 year, I just worked on 2 years old 32" SAMSUNG that already went out due to bad caps and bad main board.
Your monitor is more likely to have bad caps by now. As you will see the pictures in my albums of failed TV and monitors, it does not matter what you buy these days.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

When it's turned on, the
The fault is within the monitor. It is trying to power on but there is an hardware issue that checks to protect and cuts off power.
So check on monitor board for a failed driver. It can also be fault in the large value capacitors in this output section.
Look out for the output voltage , where the cut off takes place disconnect the section to confirm,
use a multimeter to check for the short of the suspected components.
check for voltage in these sections.
Hope this advice helps.
How to adjust the color ? Just brought this
1.Check if the Brightness or contrast control is at the appropriate position, not at the maximum or minimum.
2.Check if the specified voltage is applied
3.Check if the signal timing of the computer system is within the specification of the monitor.
4.Especially, check the horizontal frequency.
hope this can help

When my computer is turned on green light is not
If the green light is not glowing in the tower check the status of the light on the back of the tower where the power cable goes.
If there is no light in the back of the tower than it might be an issue with the wall jack or surge protector so try connecting the power cable to a different jack and see what happens. if it remains the same than try with a different power cable and check.
If the light is glowing on the back of the tower but there is no light in the front than it may happen the power supply of the pc might have failed. try to open the tower reseat the RAM cards, reseat the Harddrive cables as wells as try to reseat the cables of the power supply. if the light on the back flickers and goes away than it might be a faulty motherboard. So do a Motherboard test by turning on the pc without the RAM cards, if the motherboard is fine you will hear beeping noise if not than motherboard is faulty.
My computer turns on, the green light is on and
I may be in low-power mode. Try jiggling the mouse, pushing enter on the keyboard a couple times and just pushing the power button once.
If none of those work push and HOLD down the power button for about 10 seconds and the computer should shut off.
As an absolute last resort pull the power plug, leave it out a few seconds then plug it back in and power it on.
One of these methods should at least get the screen back up.
I have a samsung syncmaster t240 monitor. Boots up
Hello,
I believe the power led button is still on while the screen goes black, if yes, it means the picture board of your monitor is bad that is why it appears for a second and goes black after that
Since the power led button is on, It means the picture
board on your monitor is faulty that is why it appears for a second and goes black.
The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to
a local repairer or any service center within your vicinity to help
with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not
something you can fix yourself in other to complicate issues.
Take care.
