You will find that its proberbly just the fan catching on the cage,
Strip it down and do a little panel beating on it till it runs free
and make sure its dist free.

You will need a windows installation disc. Then you will need to put that in the computer and boot to the installation disc. From there you will want to perform a repair installation and that should fix your problem and your data will still be on the computer. Be careful and make sure not to perform a fresh install as you will lose all your data.

You're on the right track--it doesn't need to be custom-manufactured for Sony notebooks--just needs to be an internal mobile IDE-PATA hard drive. Still, I would recommend at least looking for something name brand with a decent warranty. Amazon and Newegg.com both have the Western Digital WD2500BEVE (250GB) for $79.99. That's a decent price (not mind-boggling), but more importantly it's a solid size/price reference point--e.g., if you find a 500GB name-brand hard drive for the same price, pull the trigger immediately.

Yes every piece from Sony laptops has built in WiFi for internet access. To use it look for a button with WiFi on your pc. If not found read manual.

when you try to download these programes or downloads do you have a bar pop up in the top of your screen if it does you have to click on that bar and click download file
if you do not you wont be able to download it

when you start the computer press on F2 to take you to the setup page, then move to the boot sequence and move the CD to be the first so the computer will read the CD once the computer starts. I hope this solution has been helpful.

2.66 ghz. is much to hot a chip for any Laptop.
The reason, I,m sure you know is the cooing factor.
With a unit that high in speed and temp., you will need a support base with a cooling fan to keep the unit at a stable temp.
I have a HP that came with a AMD Turion 1.8 ghz dual core processor and changed mine to a 2.2 ghz.
Unit runs very fast but over heating is always a problem.
The support base I picked up was about $30.00USD
and I still have to keep my eye on the temp.

P.S. You may want to stop at your local Radio Shack and get a can of compressed air and blow out the fan a grill section. all in one word VENTELATION
