I have a 3 dongle

Hi leigh_Hall86,

It seems that you're running a 32 bit version of the software on a 64 bit operating system. Or the driver is not longer supported by modern Operating systems. To fix this issue try finding and installing the right driver.

Hope this helped

I have sony dvd combo

Your drive motor mount which releases the drive is defective, this is a known cause with most sony drives, unfortunately your only resource is to send in a ticket to SONY, register your drive, and send it in for repair or replacement, you can register your drive on their website and post the problem. You will be subject to this problem until the drive motor actually gives way, and possible lose a CD/DVD due to damage of the drum which spins the drive. One thing leads to another, send it in, get it repaired, or get a new drive if you can afford them, these cost $20.00-$40.00 online Amazon.com or buy.com or some sort of online store you can find in your area maybe an electronic store like a Radio Shack style. Best of luck, hope it helps.

I have cobo drive, drive can read and write DVD's but not CD's

Hi there. You may need to re-install your drives.

Open Device Manager, click the + sign next to DVD/CD-ROM drives. Right-click on the drive and choose Uninstall Driver. Shut down your system, and restart. When Windows starts it will detect the new hardware and install the software for it.

Also, try uninstalling your burning software, restart, and re-install. It may be that the software has got corrupt.

Hope they work, and let me know if they do or don't.

Thank you

Sony CRX300E CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo - DVD doesn't read

Hi,
do you have software/program that supports DVD.
Try a different DVD/Movie/Disk or alternative.
Also install a program, such as Nero which will give you physical characteristics of the drive.
Finally go to device manager, and remove or uninstall the device, reboot the computer and setup again. This can sometimes remedy the problem.
ensure that the drive is set as Master/Slave. if on the same Bus/IDE channel as a hard-drive. set as master/slave opposite to what the hard-drive is setup as.
Hope this helps.

Won't recognize dvds

I think your DVD burner is faulty and requires replacing, as they are very innexpensive to replace as you wili probably know,so don't waste too much time trying to solve it. It isnt the decoder as thats a peice software that comes in certain burning programmes, the laser is able to read cds as the tracks are wider apart than dvd's and are easier to read. The drives dont last as long as they used to because, keeping the price of burners down, like anything else means cutting corners and costs and in burners cases as was the case with PS2's the lasers are cheap and soon fail.

Solve my issue of transferring data from my Sony HDR-SR10E TO pc?

If you're having trouble transferring data from your Sony HDR-SR10E to your pc, there are a few things you can try. First, make sure that the cables you're using are in good working order and correctly connected. If that doesn't work, try restarting both your pc and your Sony HDR-SR10E. If the problem persists, it's possible that the data you're trying to transfer is corrupted. In that case, you'll need to use a different method to transfer the data, such as a USB drive.

Looking for recovery disk(s) for the Sony Viao PCV-7752

Well, good and bad news. First the good news. The Sony site says to contact Best Buy for OS systems older than Windows 7. Now the bad news about the alternatives. Sony's recovery disks check for model numbers, so they are not interchangeable. If you use a generic XP installation, it will wipe personal data files and definitely not install or recover any Sony software. And Windows own XP Recovery Console demands you put in the recovery CD/DVD. As you finding the recovery disk at Sony, that's a no go. No do I find it at 3rd party sites, not even internet archive for your model. As you are looking for restoration to factory defaults, there is no use pointing to data recovery options. Nor do I find the recovery discs on Ebay. And Microsoft does not offer an ISO of XP and says sites that do may contain malware. The needle in the haystack approach would be to seek the discs on an XP Forum site. There is a site that alleges it is working on a workaround to defeat Sony's check of model numbers but I see no result. Just why Best Buy might could help, I don't know. My stops at Best Buy suggests they ship the computer off to parts unknown and I suppose one such outfit would either have the recovery discs or wipe the computer and put on a generic XP setup minus Sony software and personal data. So, maybe this information will help you in your decisions.

Sony Vaio PCG-8W2L. Proprietary ? Can I fit a motherboard from a machine that has an i5 processor in it?

Question edited for clarity and spelling of model. Yes if the peripherals attached to it are compatible with that motherboard. Sony tend to do things their own way and make such upgrades difficult. It is always an interesting experience. Or you can just upgrade the processor and leave the motherboard alone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_imK95TZUE https://www.google.com/search?q=Sony+vaio+pcg8w2L+upgrade+to+i5+processor ..

Both of my SONY MDS-JB920s are stuck in Standby after a recent power outage and will not turn on. What do I do?

Since you have multiple items that are damaged from the power issue, this is an insurance claim.. It would appear that there was a surge that damaged the power supplies.
