Have power cycle be enabled on your router and modem, and then try it again. Make sure that the wireless mode on your router's settings is compatible with the Nintendo Wii console.then. If the router is using a 802.11n only Up to 300Mbps mode, you will have to need to change this setting in order to allow the Wii to be allowed to connect to your home networks. You can still be allowed to have a NIntendo Wii console to be able to go on the internet and still have access to the internet too.

Maybe it is the av cable hook up that is causing this problem the occur for your Wii console to be playing in black and grey and white or the RCA jacks on the TV might be the problem too or both of these issues then. Try a new av cable for your Wi and try a different video or auxiliary channel then. If it works with new av cables and on a different video or aux channel then it is the RCA jacks on the TV and the av cable then. Or if no luck them maybe the Wii console is having issues with the graphics chips then and will have to be repaired. Or the TV might be having issues then.

Unplug the controller from the Nintendo 64 console.
Get a clean toothbrush with no tooth paste on the tooth brush and a cup of warm water not hot water or boiling water. Do not put the controller in any type of liquid's or water or pour water or liquids on the controller.
Slightly dip the toothbrush in the water the toothbrush should not be soaking wet and then scrub gently and slowly the area of the controller around the buttons and control stick.
Work the bristles down around the sides of the buttons and the control stick.
After cleaning the controller, dry it off with a wash cloth.
Let the controller air dry for at least a few hours.
Try the controller again too see if the controller works then. If the controller still is not work then the controllers buttons might have to be replaced and the controller might have to be replaced also. Nintendo does not fix and repair Nintendo 64 consoles anymore and Nintendo does not repair or fix accessories for the Nintendo 64 anymore either. This works for Nintendo game cube controllers as well with buttons that stick for the Nintendo game cube controllers. Nintendo does not repairs game cube consoles anymore and does not repairs accessories for game cube anymore either. Lukie games and DK Oldies and JJ games and East Star land games sells accessories for the old consoles that are not sold in store's anymore.
