found it in a garage sale for $1?
sure, it's old, and all old PC's die, lucky you the screen still works at all. (most do not)
HP Pavilion dv6000
with horrible XP operating system, (virus magnet)
16 years old today, no hdd or battery lasted 16 years.
the main large battery is dead. that old, so leave it out, run on AC power only until PC works right.
next is that very dead RTC CMOS coin cell battery dead., this makes BIOS go crazy, and fail hard.
when that fails it can not boot. the boot hDD , harddisk boot order is gone, in BIOS page of same name
F11 will not work right if any things above bad.
The HDD this old is no good.(that old)
so it did no run for 16 long years and fail just not out of the blue.
I bet it did not (unless serviced fully every 3 years)
RTC battery is under bottommemory hatch

after a new battery (coin + pig tail type)
f10 is the hot key for bios (power on , hammer F10)
- bios page 1 set time and date.
- set bios defaults.
- set PXE to disabled where seen.
- set boot order to hdd first.
- save
- exit bios, and cold boot PC and see HDD fail. as all do this old.
any PC shop can fix this, why not do that?
