Whats the operative version that you have? Maybe be a hardware issue but better first try to update what you can. Please update.

Sounds like a loose connector inside, I had a similar problem after I took my 680 apart to replace a cracked screen. It took a few more dismantlings and re-assemblings until it settled down. You should also check the state of the button cell battery.

There is a program called Tascal Regedit 7.0 which helps to get the touchscreen software working again.
