old mixed with the new. this toy PDA is 14 year old today.
do you own the router or the ISP or phone company?
you mean wifi, wireless has many forms!
the new router is using security that the old IPAQ cant do.
you have 2 choices
1: change THE ROUTER to weak encryption (and risk all other computers using it)
2: or get rid of the IPAQ, they are junk now. old and obsolete and no support, HP retired them, as legacy status.
if your read the manual for the IPAQ, it clearly shows its limits.
lots.
spec. 802.11b
WEP 64/128-bitcompliant to IEEE 802.11Compliant to 802.1X (EAP-TLS,PEAP)WPA
see the lack of WPA2?
if you set up your router to be wpa2 only as most folks do for
max security and ISP do,, no IPAQ like this works.
to others reading the battery just pops out on this newer model
then see a white sticker that sticker shows if your PDA
was opted with wifi and or bluetooth, there.
on the pda menus , labeled WIFI
make sure all off is not set to on, on main screen
click settings.
chapter 7 in the manual covers this.
turn it on
turn off ipaq wifi power saving mode, or it will fail.
the 3 lines in read below
must match your routers setting.
for example min router has WEP turned off so i cant get hacked.
wep is no longer secure.
