FELLOWES SHREDDER In case of a paper jam , which may occur if the shredder is pushed beyond its specified capabilities, press the control switch to the off [O] position and empty the basket if full. Then: 1) Press and hold control switch in reverse [R] position and attempt to back paper out of shredder. 2) If shredder jams in reverse mode, press control switch to automatic [I] position and attempt to continue shredding operation. 3) If shredder jams again, alternate control switch slowly between reverse [R] and automatic [I] positions to attempt to move jammed paper completely through shredder. If you are unable to clear the jam using this method, turn off and unplug the shredder; remove the wastebasket from cabinet and carefully remove any paper extending below the cutting cylinders; empty the wastebasket; insert wastebasket and repeat jam clearing procedure.

I had this happen where I worked and I elected to fix it. You have to remove the screws in the base, and IIRC the ends. Then I used a knife to cut the laminate pouch and pull out the pieces with pliers. If you can turn it on without damaging the machine or zapping yourself, the heat will help. Yes you can, you can also spray it with WD40, leave it an hour, spray it again and run a few sheets of plain paper through it. WD40 is kerosene based.

Did you take it apart? sometime when you do this everything does not line up correctly and one of the sensors may be blocked. Also there maybe a small jam or the paper feed sensor could be stuck, you may even have to give it a small hit on the head with your hand- unplug it for 5 minutes for a reset- the do no like to be take apart!! they are set up tricky on purpose sometimes. leave it in the off position not in forward when its not being used even while its not working. they can really hurt you and people do take them apart so sensors is almost alway why they stop working when the motor is, it may very well have a micro controller thats keeping it from going forward without some type of reset because of a multi sensor trip.(i.e you opening the case and triggering sensors in a way that would only trigger is you disassembled ) give it time to reset https://www.6ya.com/mr.mike
