you need to remove the drain pump motor and see what is obstructing the impellar.(small shreds of glass:small popcorn pieces etc. Doesnt take much to stop the drain pump.Try and get to drain pump from the front. Miele very compact.

If you checked the intake water filter and drain filter and still have this problem -- Try this...

1 - You need to take the diswasher out.
2 - Turn it on its side so you can access the bottom panel.
3 - Unscrew the bottom panel
4 - Take off the electric circulation motor (big electric motor with a bunch of hoses going into it (it is the biggest motor -- not the small motor at the front of the machine (this thing actually screws in place from the back of the machine). To take the motor off - just unscrew the bolt from the back of the machine and wiggle the thing out from the seal.
5 - Unscrew the 4 screws (need a one of those special star screw drivers) that hold the motor to the pump mechanism
6 - Turn the wheel to unseize the motor -(it takes very little pressure to do this) and reinstall it -- it will very likely work again (if it does not - you need to replace this motor)

There is apprently an easier way to do this from inside the machine - but meile technicians have a special tool to go in and turn the motor blade to unseize this. It takes very little pressure and I think it would be a crime to pay someone else to do this -- it is so simple....

So, in summary, first check to make sure there are no blockages in the filters - then try this...

to release the door lock you have to pull the outer door and inner door away from each other at the top. if you have a wood panel, pull the handle of the wood panel away from the stainless steel inner door panel. you will notice the outer door panel will move out about a quarter inch. you will then hear the latch pop open. once you do that, close the door and select your cycle as usual.

If all of the lights on the control panel flash in sequence, this means the machine has detected an overfill.Or you have a door lock switch problem.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or back feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET valve to open up and allow water to flow into. If this does not happen then the voltage at the inlet valve must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor .

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water .

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

check your fuse or breaker box.

verify you hear the pump running when it is supposed to be draining. If you don't hear the pump running, then you probably need to have a service person come out.

If you can hear it running, then then check the drain hose going to the kitchen sink drain if that is where it drains to. I have seen it where the rubber drain hose was left too long and when the dishwasher was push into place, it kinked the hose, preventing it from draining.
