Waterproof fault
I just received this error message on my Miele WPS 4146 (Waterproof Fault) Prior to this I had an error message regarding the Drain outlet, so I opened the drain outlet and cleaned it. I think I might have opened it too quickly and therefore creating the (Waterproof Fault). The problem is that when you open the drain outlet too quickly the water runs into the bottom of the washing machine where some sensor lies and you get the (Waterproof Fault) error message on the display and not even turning off the machine will do anything to get rid of this annoying message.
So here is the fix that worked for me.
1. Turn off the machine
2. Unplug it
3. Open the drain outlet and take out the plug.
4. Dry all the visible water with a cotton cloth.
5. Tilt the machine FORWARD and hold it until you see water gushing from underneath the machine.
6. Repeat this until you see no more water.
7. Plug the machine back inn.
8 VOILA no error message! I hope in your case :)
My parents have a Miele W5471 washing machine. It throws up an F93 error code and stops. The manual doesn’t give any clues. What’s wrong? What needs checking/fixing/ replacing?
Whirlpool Washing Machine FP or F9 E1 Error Code
If your washing machine is not working correctly it's safe to say it's developed a fault. A flashing FP or F9 E1 error code on the LCD display can ring alarm bells, but it's typically associated with a water draining problem inside the drum.
That's where eSpares come in! You've got the question's and we're sure to have the answers. By following our article below we can get you out of this dilemma and see that your laundry pile is back under control again.
Cause 1
Blocked Filter
Most washing machines won't start a spin cycle until they've fully drained the water from the wash.
If your machine is draining very slowly or not at all the most likely cause is a blockage somewhere in the drainage system and the most common is the filter.
Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.
The best way to check if your filter is blocked is to:
- Drain the water from the machine by lowering the drain hose below the water level to a bowl or your machine may have a drain hose near the filter
- Place a towel under the filter and pull the filter out to remove any debris that may have gathered.
- Check the pump impeller inside the housing turns freely and is not obstructed.
eSpares Top Tip: Check your filter as part of your regular maintenance to ensure your washer runs smoothly and ensure no drainage problems.
If the filter is damaged a replacement will need to be fitted, and you can see our extensive range of washing machine filters here within our extensive selection of washing machine spares.
