Compaq presario speaker hook ups

a brand new HP 360 comes with no manual $1000 in a box. fact. that is because its at HP for free , you are not at HP but at fixya. why be here? we are NOT HP. the manuals are all there, one model might have like 30 manuals. depends on what you are doing, they even covery up to 8 windows versions used, not in 1 manual but 8. (or 4) speakers 101: so KBL: are those external speakers? you never said that. what is your service tag full model number it is not 2500 i get no hits at REAL HP for that number. ZE 5000 NX9010 Series???? how can it be both #????? hp has like 10,000 models of PC for 35 years we can NOT GUESS them ever here, the service tag must be presented by you or all answers will be wrong. for sure. the speaker jacks on PC can be 2 channel, 3.1. 5.1, 7.1 and up. we have no idea what you have there, at all. period I get 1 hit, NX9010 at HP. so if that is the model prefix (missing P/n on tag shown) do know this that one model like this can have 5 different motherboards used, even for sound. some have low end sound chips other higher end. more jacks. seen. no photos for your jacks by you pressented. so connect the speakers to the green jack. speakers out. 2 channels. this Laptop NX9010 came with zero external speakers so you previous owner added them. no JBL part numbers stated of the 1000s made. the nx9010 front most 3.5mm phone jack is green and is for head phones, to use speakers they must be amlified speaker you buy those and it has 2 speakers, a cross jumper from one to the other, and from the main speaker (has volume knob) there is one cable from it to the PC green jack 3.5mm then the main speaker needs its power pack connected with power on, this turns on the magic Amplifier inside. this makes the speaker work on any pace made from 1990s to now.today. off the green jack only. then set the speaker to 1/2 volume and then at the PC raise volume till happy. that is it for 2 channel technology audio. some PC have more fancy setup. but here is your book free to read for 14 years most of this PC are dead now, the CFFL lamps long ago burned out and screen dead forever. read page 50. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01122401 all the other books this pC are here. every one. https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-compaq-nx9010-notebook-pc/321850/manuals

AC Adapter Problem

why not buy the correct power pack matching the power needs of you puter. each puter needs a watts level, do that or more never less. only hp.com spec tells you what you need, its in the service guide for you PC. take out the battery now run OFF LINE pack run now? good, does it drop dead if you gently wiggle the plug at PC port> not moving pack and its cable. yes, then the PC has a bad power port end cause. if it is the PC power jack bad you will never fix it. its real deep and takes totally disassembly to reach.,(done many and do no teach LT guts to anyone) amazing HP.com has your books, and is always there. read them it specs it out. yes, power packs go bad, 3 ways, dead, weak, or intermittent. all do in time, (max life is about 20years,less if overloaded, as i bet you did) if the PC needs, 50w, do not put in a 30w. use 50 or 75 or 100w see? or it overheats .the pack, here is your page (OP) seems very very old, HP, is fighting me... needs 19v at 90watts, $8 to learn what is bad, is this too much>? old XP LT built in the 1990 its very very old and slow. 256mb ram wow. Celeron ouch. https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Supply-Charger-Compaq-Presario/dp/B002V1CWZM/ref=sr_1_1/153-8354350-8800969?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1489601394&sr=1-1&keywords=compaq+presario+2596us

My friend gave me his son laptop and i dont know his pass word to open windows

When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in

during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

The most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard.

Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself.

Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased.

cmos battery Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computer the location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment. Although on some motherboards the Cmos battery is soldered in

Often many users will leave the administrator account alone or have other accounts with administrator rights. If you're not logging into the computer as administrator or have other accounts follow the below steps to reset your other accounts password.

Reboot the computer into Safe Mode During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer Advanced Boot Options screen appears. Select the Safe Mode option using the up and down arrow keys, then press the ENTER key. Choose "Windows XP Home/Professional", depending on the version of the operating system. Press ENTER. Shortly, the welcome screen should show. Log in as "Administrator". Click Yes to not use System Restore Mode. Click the Start button. Choose Run and type in "control user passwords" (without the quotes). Click OK.

Select the "Administrator" user. Click Change my password. Enter a new password in the corresponding text boxes. Click OK. Write this password down and store it in a secure place Close the User Accounts window and restart Windows.

In User Accounts select the account you wish to change the password for, click change password and then enter the new password or click remove the password to remove the password from the account.

If all else fails you may have to clear the BIOS password by resetting the RTC (Real Time Clock) IC (Integrated Circuit) on your motherboard

Many RTC's require an external battery. If your RTC is one of this type you can clear the BIOS password just by unsocketing the RTC and reseating it

Hope it helps

How to unlock my bios password?

Removing the CMOS battery like the one shown in the picture to the right will cause the system to loose all CMOS settings including the password. To do this locate and remove the CMOS battery on themotherboard for at least five-minutes. After this has been done put the battery back into the computer and turn it back on.
Jump the CMOS solder beads
Older computers and especially older laptops don't have jumpers or dipswitches and require the user to jump a pair of solder beads on a circuit board. The identification and location of these solder beads can vary and if not available in computer documentation is only obtainable through the computer manufacturer.
If you've identified the solder beads they can be jumped by placing a flat-head screwdriver over the two beads and leaving it on those beads while turning on the computer. Once the computer has booted turn off the computer and then remove the screwdriver.

Power Supply Port Burnout

1) You need to replace the DC Power Jack. This is the port on the laptop where the AC adapter (Charger) plugs in. {Power port}

Most so called repair shops won't touch this. (Notice I stated so called) They will want to replace the entire motherboard. {Geeks are us}

A bona fide computer repair tech can replace the DC Power Jack. Cost of jack? Around $10. Repair bill? From $50 to $125.

[Entire laptop needs to be disassembled, down to the bare motherboard in the tech's hand. Precise de-soldering, and soldering skills, are needed for the DC Power Jack replacement. Reassemble laptop.

This gives you an idea of what is involved,

[Older HP Pavilion DV6500 through DV6800 models]

DC Power Jack replacement,

2) Replace the AC adapter. If the AC adapter has a separate cable from the power unit, to the laptop, then by all means just replace it. May be more of a headache, then just buying a universal AC adapter.

Barring none of the above is a feasible approach for you, and you wish to save the information on the harddrive, of both your laptop, and your brother's, I would suggest an economical external enclosure.

Remove the harddrive, and install it in the external enclosure. The enclosure has a USB cable, and is plugged into any available USB port on a separate computer.
(Desktop?)

The HP Pavilion ZE5000 series of laptops, (Business Notebook's), use an IDE (PATA) harddrive.
It is 2.5 inches across in width.
(Desktop harddrives are 3 and 1/2 inches across in width)

This is one example of a 2.5 IDE (PATA) external enclosure,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3169580&CatId=2782

To remove the harddrive, I'll need to know the exact Product Number.
(P/N)
This is on the bottom of the laptop in a white Service Tag.
(DO NOT give out the Serial Number. S/N)

Sorry to say something in the laptop has died or is faulty.
It may be the memory. Check in the place where the memory is installed and make sure it still clipped right in place.
Does the computer give a single beep when it is started? That is important as if it does not then the motherboard is not 'posting' and is likely damaged some way.

Nx9010 powers on but no video. fan spins.

Hello sir, hi, it seems you have a problem with memory modules, you need to open up your PC/laptop, and locate the memory. remove the modules, and clean its terminals (you clean then using a pencil eraser, just simply erase the terminals, until the contacts become shiny), with a soft clean paint brush, clean the memory slots too, then replace the modules, close then test the unit. do this several times until the unit boots up. keep me posted.

Hp pavillon is roasting hot fan working but not

Put something between the table and the notebook PC so that there is some ventilation. This might cool down the notebook. That is what I do for my Thoshiba laptop. Another option is you can buy something that is made specifically for this purpose. It is a small square shaped plastic sheet like thing which as a few small fans in it. The fan takes it power from usb port. The whole thing is about 7or 8(maybe even lesser) mm thick. Price around $20. Or else buy the smallest fan that runs on 110v (if your normal power is 110V AC) you can get and put it behind the notebook facing outwards. Idea is to exhaust the hot air from the surrounding of the notebook.
