How to reset power-on password.
The only way is to clear the cmos settings. However, there is a special way to do it.
First you have to take out the battery and the power adaptor from the laptop. Then you need to open the laptop and look on the main board for the cmos battery. Take it out for a few minutes, maybe 5 - 10 minutes. Then plug in the power adaptor without the cmos battery nor the laptop battery and boot the computer. It will ask you to hit F1 to either load default values or to save settings. Do that. Then shut down the computer. Make sure settings is saved though. Put in back the cmos battery and the laptop battery. When you reboot, it should boot up with no password.

Hi All, I have a
1.Minimize all applications so thatyou have a clear view of your desktop.
2.Right-click an open area of thedesktop - make sure you don't right-click an icon such as My Computer bymistake.
3.From the small menu that appears, click (left mouse button) on "Properties."
4. A "Display Properties"window will appear; click the "Settings" tab to bring it to thefront.
5.In the lower right portion of thattab, find the section titled "Screen Area" with a slide bar goingfrom left to right, or from "less" to "more."
6.With your mouse, slide the bar tothe right, towards the "more" side. As you slide the bar, youshould see the word under it go from 800 X 600 to a higher resolution, such as1024 X 768.
7.I recommend trying just one notch ata time. Click "Apply" to test your new settings. Aninformational message will appear, saying that you will have 15 seconds to testyour new settings before they take effect.
8.Click "OK" to test the newsettings. The screen will change to allow you to view it, and if you wantto keep those settings, click "Yes" within 15 seconds. To keepyour old settings, click "No" or wait 15 seconds.
9.Repeat steps 6-8 until you have asetting that you are satisfied with. When you are done, click "OK" tomake the Display Properties box disappear.
Some video cards and/or monitors support fewer colors as the screen resolution increases. It is up to you to decide which is more important. The number of colors is to the left of the "Screen Area" section on the same tab.
Once you have your resolution set higher, try maximizing the window for various programs. You may be surprised how much of a spreadsheet or webpage you can view on your screen!

I am recently upgrade win7
Ok this is kind of common with Windows 7. Although everyone thinks its new its really not just a fairly bug free OS. The HP models running Win7 actually are using the Vista or XP driver for audio. I just ran into that issue a few months ago when upgrading a Pavillian model.
