To reset your printer, unplug from wall and computer. Wait 1 minute. Done. That won't fix your problem. If it prints fine off word processor, the printer is fine. Need some setup for labels.
Inkjet printer disposal
Hi, You could either advertise it on an auction site for spares or your local shop.
You could advertise it "Free to collector" as spare only!!
If you didn't want to do either your local rubbish tip as they will take electrical appliances for no charge and if they can they will also recycle.
Here in the UK some charities will take un-wanted electrical appliances and will repair it or use parts to fix something else, they will then sell it on raising money for charity.
Or you could simply break it up and put it in the bin, with other household rubbish.
Hope this has give you a few ideas!!
Are there converter cables for a 722C deskjet printer that can be hooked up to a new computer with Windows 7?
I'm looking for one now, myself. I decided dig-out the HP 722C and try to get it work with Windows7 64-Bit, now that I see there's a driver patch for some of these older DeskJets. I already downloaded and applied the patch (See message thread in the HP forum).
I'm now shopping for a 36-Pin Centronics Male to USB-A (Male) cable converter. Be careful on the male Centronics plug - - - The one I'm looking for has 36 small square holes in the center. Do NOT just buy any coverter cable, as some people report they couldn't get it to work (with Win7 64-Bit). It must state it works with Win7 64-Bit or customer comments/reviews say it does.
There's another type of Centronics that has 36 contacts spaced closer together without the 36 square holes. I have that cable and it must have come from an old Epson dot-matrix printer I once had. It will not fit my HP 722C. I do have a DB-25 to Centronics (36-Pin) cable I got from RS years ago. Now I need to get the new cable.
I am installing a HP
Yes but do not turn it on. wait until you reach the step in the installation process that asks the printer to be turned on
Everything from laptop to printer seems to be
Try doing a self test by holding the paper feed button until the green light flashes. If it prints a test page then you should try a different printer cable. You can also clean the contact points on the cartridge (looks like gold dots) by using nail polish remover or surgical spirits.
Drive belt for ink cartridge holder shredded
You could take it to a certified HP repair center, but as cheap as printers are these days, it may be more cost effective to just buy a new one - unless your just really attached to your old printer! Good luck!

HP Deskjet 722c appears to print but the page is
If the clean test page shows streaked or broken colors, the printer or cartridges are not functioning properly. Note that HP cannot guarantee the quality of refilled or remanufactured cartridges. Follow the steps below to solve the problem:

Remove and reseat the cartridges. Try printing again.

Check ink levels, and if a cartridge is low on ink or out of ink, replace it and try printing again.
-
Clean the cartridges. Depending on what printer you have, you can either print another clean test page or run a cleaning utility. Check your User's Guide for instructions. Try printing again.

Only prints in pink
Hi Yes you can try clean.
If it same as ink jets
Ok it got to be the heads blockage
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.
Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.
Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

I have just replaced the color ink cartdrige in my
A new ink needs a little cleaning before using. Just dab lightly on a damp paper towel and look for a inch log stripe of each color on the towel. If all colors are not there it won't print very well and you should return the cartridge. Some have reported no yellow in their new cartridges.
Will HP Deskjet 722c work with Windows 7? There
If you are using a 32
bit version of Windows 7 you can add a driver using the following: go
to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a printer, Local printer,
LPT1: (or which ever parallel port the printer is connected to),
select the Deskjet 720c driver. You may need to click on the Windows
Update button if the driver does not show up initially in the list.
If you are using a 64 bit version of Windows 7 there is not a solution at this point, the supplied drivers have an issue.
