Lift the Flat Bed Scanner up so that you can find the Cartridges Inside.
Remove the Cartridges from the Printer.
Move the Cartridge Carrier Back and Forth as fast as you can!
Replace the Cartridges back to the Printer!

Ink cartridges do not slide into view when I open the top with the printer turned on
You have a bad sensor on the lid that detects when it is open or a short on the board that is stopping it from sensing the lid open or stopping the motor from positioning the carriage as it should. If this unit is over 3 to 4 years old I would replace the unit instead of wasting time with it as the repair will most likely cost more than a new printer will.
I just replaced both cartridges
Hello.
If the cartridges are not moving, it could be an indication of a print head stepper motor problem. The stepper motor moves the print head assembly (print head and ink cartridges) back and forth across the paper.
Wipe the bar on which the print head travels. The motor may not be able to drive the print head through the accumulated gunk. Use a soft cloth and distilled water.
Hope this helps.
I just changed ink in
hi, it maybe your ink problem, becouse after do the cleaning for many time but still cannot, try to use other or new cartridge and see what result, TQ
My 812 c only prints black and magenta. I put in a
The cartridge may be defective, but before returning it, try cleaning the electrical contacts on the cartridge and the printer.
Use a q-tip and distilled or bottled water.
Do not touch the part of the cartridge where the ink comes out, just the electrical contacts (dots) on the cartridge, and the contact points in the printer that they connect to.
After cleaning the cartridge, put it back in. If you still only get one color, replace the cartridge.
If the replacement cartridge does the same thing, call HP tech support.
If the replacement works, call HP and get them to replace the defective cartridge.
My document will not print even after changing
Does the printer go through the motion of paper coming out when you press print. If it does and still no paper then the print heads may be the issue. Sometimes they do not come on the ink catridges. given how old the printer is proll better to replace it. If it doesnt go through the motion then its a software issue and need that fixed maybe by uninstalling and reinstalling.
Need to get rid of
Hello, you don't say what operating system you're using. If it's XP, go to Start > 'Printers and Faxes'>
then double-click (left mouse button) on your printer, and you'll see what's queued.Right-click on a document and you'll have the option to cancel it.

I had walgreens refill my HP black ink container,
It may be simply resolved by the following steps
1.
there is document in the queue but paper is out
2. Cartridge problem (remove
and insert again)
3. Communication error
4. Cover is open
BUT as per your description this seems more apt!!
This
error means that some mechanical parts of your printer is in trouble. This could
be some of the causes:
1. The print head is stuck somewhere or is unable
to move because of some blockage in the printer's bay.
2. If you are using a
Continuous Ink System, then the tubes might have blocked the print heads from
moving.
To resolve, turn OFF your printer. Remove such blockage then turn
the printer back ON
If its a problem with ink cartridges try these steps
Disconnect the Printer from the Computer.
Press the "Cartridge Change" button for ~ 3
Seconds.
When the Ink Cartridge Carriage
travels to the Changing Position PULL THE POWER PLUG (NOT the "OFF"
Switch). The Ink Cartridge Carriage should now Slide Freely on the
Rail as long as it isn't pushed to the Right so that it goes under the shelf to
the "Homed and Locked" Position.
Fold up a
Paper Towel (About 1 Sheet) so that its final width is about the same as the
width of the gutter under the Print Head on the Carriage and so that it is thick
enough when folded to contact and lightly press on the Print
Head.
Saturate the folded Paper Towel with ~
70% Isopropyl Alcohol and lay it in the
Gutter.
Manually slide the Carriage and Print
Head Over the wet Paper Towel. A slight amount of drag should be
experienced if the thickness of the paper towel folds is
Correct.
Let the Print Heads rest on the
Saturated Paper Towels for a few Minutes or Hours. Too long a
Treatment may pull out all of the Cartridge's Ink: Check the Paper Towel
Frequently to Assess if Ink is Capillarying out onto the
Towel.
When the Treatment appears Successful
remove the Paper Towel and Clean Up and plug the Printer power back
in.
Run a Test Pattern via the Computer
Connection WITHOUT first running the Head Cleaning
Utility.
If the pattern isn't OK, Try Running
the Head Cleaning Utility to see if it makes it Better or
Worse.
If Worse, Repeat the Alcohol Paper Towel
Treatment: The Paper Towel may be Gently Pulled back and forth
under the Print Heads to wipe them off.
