HP 7210 OfficeJet All-In-One Printer Questions & Answers
My printer is connected to computer, however the on button is not on, screen shows initiating then small block goes on , but it does not engage to print.
Hi there, my name is Lisa and I'd be happy to help. I understand you are unable to print. Let's start with a hard reset. To do so, leave the printer on and unplug the power cable for 1 minute. While it is unplugged, hold down the power button on the printer for 10-15 seconds to release any built up power, then after the minute has passed, plug the printer back in.
If the issue persists, I'd recommend you download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues:
www.hp.com/go/tools.
If you require further assistance please comment on my response and I will gladly do all I can to help. Thanks.
I work on behalf of HP.

CAN T RECIEVE A FAX FOR SOME NUMBERS BUT CAN SEND THEM ONE WHY
I've seen this many times before, when a customer / account gets a new fax machine, or is using a different fax machine. All the other faxes go through without a hitch, except for these. If fax machines become a couple generations apart / 10 years, they won'
t communicate sufficiently enough to make the fax hand shake and the Fax fails to go through.

Hp officejet 7210. When router resets, I loose my
IS this printer wired LAN to your router? If so, look in the settings to your printer and check the IP address.
Now in the settings menu, it should have an option for you to set DLNA or manual. Set to manual. Enter the same IP address the machine originally had. If you could not find what ip address your printer had, in windows startmenu find run or command prompt and type ipconfig all.
Find the ip address for your computer. Add 10 to it. For example, if it is 192.168.0.2 than give your printer 192.168.0.12 If it asks for a subnet mask use 255.255.255.0
I believe the problem you are having is that every time your router resets it gives your printer a different ip address (dynamic IP), so your printer driver software can no longer find it. You need to use a static ip address (manually giving the printer an ip address) so it never changes and the driver can always find it.

It does not pick up paper to align the cartridges,
This model has a fairly common problem with the paper feed. If it appears that it tries to pick up paper but fails, then most likely there is a broken part.
Parts are not available for HP ink printers.. it's probably time for a new printer.

Error Alignment failed. How do yiu fix?
According to the HP website, go thru these steps to see if you can fix the error alignment message:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=buu00657&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=sg&lang=en&product=391153
If after going thru these steps the printer still won't work then the printer would need to go into service.

CARRIAGE JAM WILL NOT RESET AFTER CLEARING JAM
If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.
Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam
- Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
- Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
- Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
