Hello,

The "scanner warming up" error is usually caused by dirty glass or mirrors in the scanner assembly. Here is a link to a step by step guide that tells how to open the scanner unit and clean the optics to clear the error.

There's a narrow window above where the drum sits that gets covered with toner, wipe it with a soft cloth, also check if the image in the blurred area wipes off which means something could be wrapped around the fuser roller. Inspect the drum too, if you see a dark band where the blurrs are, you need a new drum.

Causes of jams

NOTE If you are experiencing jams in the duplex paper path, make sure that the duplex-tray

lever is set to the correct media size for your country/region. Open the duplex-paper-path door

and look at the embossed arrow on the lever. Make sure that it points to the media size for your

country/region. If the size needs to be changed, push the lever all the way in for duplex printing

on letter- and legal-size media, or pull it all the way out for duplex printing on A4-size media.

Occasionally, paper or other print media can become jammed during a print job. Some causes include

the following events:

? The print media that is being used does not meet HP specifications.

? The media is damaged or has objects attached to it, such as staples or paper clips.

? The environment in which the print media was stored is too humid or too dry.

? The input trays are loaded incorrectly or overfilled, or the media guides are not set correctly.

? Too many sheets have accumulated in an output area, or sheets are blocking an output area.

? Media is added to or removed from an input tray during a print job or an input tray is removed from

the all-in-one during a print job.

? The cartridge door is opened during a print job.

Your previous driver was supplied via HP, and incorporated the Scan To PDF in it.

Unfortunately, the driver for Win7 is through Windows 7 (not HP), and doesn't have this capability.

To mimic what you had before, you can install Adobe Acrobat, and set it to watch a folder for new files (Distiller). When it finds one, it will convert it to PDF automatically. But, Adobe costs $.

There are a number of utilities on the internet (google for convert tif to pdf) which can make the pdf files for you, but it will still be an extra step.

Have your phone company run a test on the line. This is usually the problem. If they determine that your line is good, then check the phone cord. It could be bad or even plugged into the wrong port.

Try doing a reset by holding down the * and Menu/Enter keys while plugging in the unit, hold the keys down until the screen says that it is resetting.

The 3300 also has a "Secret Menu" that can be accessed by;

To View The Secret Menu:
1: Press Both The Left And Right Navigation Arrow Keys
2: It Will Ask You To "Enter A Special Key Combo.", Enter "123" (Without Quotes)
3: You Should Be In The Secret Menu Now.

P.S. Use The Arrow Keys To Navigate.

The manual can be found at;
