if its a refilled cartridge then... it might be a bad one... my best suggestion is called hp and verify the ink install procedures... or consult your manual... if you did it right then you might have a bum cartridge... replace it and try again... if the same then you might need to get your hp repaired... The power light blinking indicates the printer is preparing to print a document. The resume light indicates 1) needs paper, 2) a paper jam anywhere in the printer, or 3) the ready to print side 2 of the document.

you must be change cartridge color or black it was demage

clean with HP drivers tools.

Try setting it up again or buying a new cartridge

small set of gears in the service section (cartride cleaning section ) is broken

delete the printer from printer and faxes list,then download the latest drivers from hp.com and reinstall printer.

Did you install the proper drivers ?

I took the printer to office depot where they looked at it and said it was an obsolete model that would ccost more to fix tthaan the original printer. They offered me a new hp6500 at a sale price of $99.00 and a tradee in of $50.00 on my 3820 which I promptly grabbed up.

If you power off the printer and raise the cover you should be able to GENTLY move the print head towards the centre but if it's not moving there is probably something else wrong if it's not responding to the button push or software request.

yes you can goto hp.com
select the tab that says support and drivers.
then select the option download drivers and software.
enter your printer name (deskjet 3820)
click on the enter button on your keyboard.
Now select your operating system.
then select the option that says full software and driver downloads and save the file to your desktop.
the moment the download completes run it,it will start extracting all the files and then automatically the splash screen will show.
click on install..........voila now you have started installing your printer.

dont connect the printer until the installation asks you to connect it.
