You have a scanner. It is the laser/scanner which writes the image to the drum. It is located under the top cover in the center. It is a black box and most times the issue is the scanner motor has become dusted up and does not turn to the correct speed. Not sure if yours can be repaired but on older models I have repaired them by opening the laser/scanner assembly and removing the little circut board with the motor and chrome spinning shaft. If you can remove the chrome piece from the motor you do so and then place a very tiny drop of synthetic oil down the shaft, install the chrome piece and spin a few time by hand and put everyting back together. You can download the service manual by doing a google search.

Is it doing this while your printer is still connected to your 8460p? Disconnect your printer. Power down your printer. Depress and hold the "go" and "select" button while turning it back on. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall the print driver.

If your printer won't print mirror image, try editing the document so that the mirror image appears on your screen. All printers will print that. I know MS Word has that capability. I hope that is of help.

Reverse the image in the software.

I would turn off the print and then turn on. This could be a main board issue.

you need to go where it says Service then input that code and scroll to reset the belt. ( this only needs to be reset in Service mode when changing before the counter says to.)

you are using a generic toner -- the chip on the toner is causing the memory error. you should still be able to print. hit the ok button to bypass

Do the calibration of printer from menu

Take it to the service center as the sensor is broken.... looks alike

Replace your power adapter and check

The service manual shows no way to print test page without a computer attached.
