My printer won't scan...ask for

Hello,

What I am going to say may not be relevant to your case, but a scanner needs to scan to some image format( a default format or one you select. So you computer needs to have some kind of imaging software installed.

Apparently, the only kind of imaging software the scanner detects is Windows Paint.

If this is really the case, go to the Internet and download some free imaging software: IRFANVIEW, or The Gimp.

Hope it helps

How do you receive fax on hp officejet 4110

Do you have any Digital Answering Machines in the house?
or is it a dedicated line?
anyway heres the link for the 3 digit error codes document, its a public document that can be found by searching www.hp.com using this Article #: bpu02549 or buu02549
anyway as you can see 388 result/solution is the following...

Problem: Unable to complete the connection.
Solution: *Reattempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved.

Now this means that one or both fax machines can have a problem. So lets isolate the problem.

Place a regular phone into the wall jack that the OJ 4110, if there is a static sound then its the phone line that is having the problem. if there is no static continue on...*Note if you have a DSL Internet service you NEED a filter for the fax*
..
What this is most commonly caused by is Bad line conditions which can occur in some different ways.
1) If there has been recently a Thunder Storm the electrostatic discharges interupt phone signals.
2) Recent power line downage
3) Recent Phone line downage
4) The phone company upgrading the lines

But basically something is BLOCKING the faxes from hearing each other. That is why you get this error code.
You can call your phone company to run a line trace. The reason you want to do this is so that you can eliminate the possibly of Static, Yes there are differnt types of it;
1) the normal static that you and me can hear
2) the SuperSonic Static, AKA Static in the Higher Frequency Ranges, where your DSL internet connection is. the Fax will pick up on those Higher frequency ranges, and it will cause problems. So put a DSL Filter on the Fax it wont hurt, and most of the times it helps alot.
Again Make sure ECM is disabled.
other than that, try unplugging all devices on the phone system an try...
i think there is alot fo information, i cant think of anything else...
Hope that helps

does it try to pull the paper? if doesn't check the paper sensor, if it does try to pull, you need to clean very well the "pick-up" and the under part. Try using "Thinner", it's very good!

Computer Printer Problem: My HP

please proceed as per the following instructions...

, without turning off your printer, unplug the power cable from the unit, after you have done that, on your printer, hold the Ok and cancel button to gether and while you are holding it down, plug the power cord back and keep holding the buttons for about 5 sec.
once the unit turns off, use the power button and turn it on. the unit would print and alignment sheet and this should fix the issue

if that doesnt help....

The ADF paper sensor is misplaced. Follow these steps below to correct the position of the ADF sensor.
  1. Open the document feeder cover, which is on the left side of the ADF, when standing in front of the unit.
  2. Locate the black plastic ADF paper sensor on the inside of the cover door.
  3. If the sensor is loose on one side, reattach the sensor in the small hole. See the images below.
Figure 1: ADF paper sensor is loose c00189069.jpg Figure 2: ADF paper sensor is attached c00189070.jpg

beyond this ur only option wud be to call up HP as it could be a serious hardware issue....

My hp printer takes avery long time in printing

Check that you haven't increased the printing resolution beyond what is sufficient to print your document.

High resolution vs. draft output will cause you to use a lot more ink and will take at least twice as long to print a page because it is likely printing each line at least twice. This is how full color (photo quality) images are printed. If you don't need a photo to be dark, then set your printer to "Standard" or "Draft" settings.
