Why won't my printer print black text?

It sounds like you have a fault with the black cartridge print-head. Converting a document to pdf makes it a graphic and all graphics are printed in colour shaded with black even if your machine is set for grey-scale. If the black cartridge has built in print-head, take it out and try pressing the head to a tissue to see if it leaves a solid "footprint". If no footprint, dip the head into a saucer of hot water for a few seconds and re-test the footprint. If you get a solid line/bar of black the cartridge should be ok if not repeat the dunking but only for a few seconds at a time. If the cartridge is just a tank that plugs onto the printhead you will need to try a couple of cleaning or "diagnostic" cycles. If still no go try placing a folded up damp paper kitchen towel under the printhead for 5 minutes. Unplug the machine power cable while the machine is busy to do this. Remove the paper pad and repower the machine. Try a test page to see if things have improved. Good luck.

My hp Photosmart 7450 printer was working, then in the middle of printing it stopped and there is an error message on my computer, the green light is blinking on printer but won't print

First things first... try connecting your printer to another pc or laptop and try printing... make sure spooling is on in the driver and there are no other programs running... if issue reappears then It sounds like your printer cartridges are the issue I would try reinstalling them... if that does not work then I would try cleaning your printer cartridge... Gather cleaning supplies: Clean distilled water. Use bottled or filtered water if distilled water is not available. Clean cotton swabs or any soft, lint-free material (coffee filters work well). Remove both cartridges. Unplug the printer. Lightly moisten the lint-free cleaning material with clean water. Clean the cartridge contacts. Avoid touching the nozzles. Replace the cleaning material if it gets dirty. If that does not work then I would try ordering some new cartridges hp photosmart 7450 ink cartridges I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/norman_d2fa496dce30c65d

I have HP Photosmart 7450

Please describe more about your problem. If you've downloaded the drivers, have you installed them? That is, have you run the setup program for installing the HP7450 on the HP Pavilion computer? When you run the setup program, part of the process will search for the HP7450. Are you connecting with the USB cable and have you check that it is securely seated in both the computer and printer? Is your printer turned on so the computer can find it during the search process?

Ink cartridge won't work. The cartridges were

Frequently use of same refill cartridge some time becomes dead or print is not able to recognize you can try with installing new one. Just follow these steps if it works but I advised you to change the faulty cartridge

Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.

If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:

1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.

2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.

3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.

Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Please rate my response.Thanks.Have a good day

Carriage gets stuck, Won't print. Power button

Check the following steps for fixing Hp Carriage Jam Error :

Open the print carriage access door. Check for any packing material that may be blocking the internal components. Check for an orange shipping lock that may still be in place on the left side. Pull the shipping lock out, if present, and discard.

Remove and reinstall the cartridges to make sure they are properly installed. Lift the front center of the print carriage access door to open it. Lift the door up until it locks into an open position. Press down on a print cartridge and allow it to spring back up. Lift the cartridge out of the printer. Do the same for the other cartridge. Slide the black cartridge into the slot on the left and the color cartridge into the slot on the right. Press down on each one to lock it into place. Lower the print carriage access door.

Check the print cartridges to make sure the protective tape has been removed from the ink nozzles. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Remove any tape or labels. Replace the cartridges into the printer.

Push in on the tab on the left side of the clean-out door on the back of the printer to open the door. Lift the door out of the printer. Check for any paper jams. Jammed paper can block the printer cartridge carriage from moving. Pull any jammed papaer out.

Margin problem

Problem---Printer prints email on the very edge of the paper and leaves off the first 3 letters of every word down the edge of that margin. If you have Windows Live Mail forget trying to fix it from there. Clicking File will not give you the page setup option you are looking for. Go to the bottom of the screen, click "all programs", look for and click "Internet Explorer", click File, click "page setup". A screen comes up in which you can change the margins. The left margin is probably set on .25. Change it to .75. Okay. Go back and run a test email.

You will need to log off from the computer and log in back as a user with Administrative Rights to make changes (Install the Printer Software) to the computer.

Alternatively, you could also try to right-click the setup program and choose Run As Administrator.

Paper got jammed and now it won't print.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with turn printer off and unplug the printer from all cables (power, USB, etc). Try to hold it upside down and gently shake it so that if there is any paper inside it’s removed. If still it’s not resolved then clean the print head. To clean the print head take a hot water towel with the printer unplugged and the cartridges out, clean it till the time you see there is no ink residue on the towel. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
