Is a USB , one to the PC (USB) the other to the printer.

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.hp.com
Enter '2210' and do the search.
Select your device.
Select your Operating System.
Download the device-driver.
Install.

Did you try HP Support & Drivers.

I'll ask what may seem a stupid question, but did you remove the tape from the cartridge? If you forgot to pull that off, it would give you an error message.

If you've made sure that all the plug-ins are firmly connected, including the one to the printer, you may be forced to take it to the shop. A long shot would be to reload your software. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Have you tried going to your control panel and making sure the 2210 is checked as your printer? Sometimes that gets goofed up for some reason (you know MS) and you have to tell the computer what printer you want to use.

I have the HP 1210 all in one and when it pulls tricks like that, I usually have to delete the whole software installation and run the disk to reinstall it. Don't forget to check the HP website for updates, especially for the drivers, if you do what I do.

Sounds like the PC is trying to make a Dial-Up connection. Check Internet Explorer, Properties, Connections.

Typically a printer will notify you if levels are low. The best way (otherwise), is to print a test page from the maintenance page.

I use a clear silicone tube to carefully prime the carts by sucking a dab of ink out of the tiny print holes before installation.

The simplest way you can manually try is, pull/push the carriage manually. Open the front access door, reach your hand to the carriage (the unit that carries the cartridges), pull or push it to the center if it's not automatically move towards the center (do this while the printer is On), don't force it, but gently most the carriage so that it'll come to the center. Again turn off the machine and restart, it should work fine.

Try this...

Try moving the printer to another location ( just by itself, you don't need a computer for this) and powering up. If this doesn't work, shut off your computer and remove the power cord from the back of it. Replace the wall to power adaptor portion of the printer power cord with the one from the computer and try again. If this doesn't work, you cheapest easiest solution is to purchase a new printer.

Try installing the drivers for it from here.

Base from the description of your problem this can be an issue with the printer communication to your computer, is there any pending print job on your computer?

If there;s any pending print job we need to clear that and restart your print spooler to correct the problem.

Do these to stop and restart the print spooler, Open command prompt Click Start > Programs > Accessories > Command prompt , then there type NET STOP SPOOLER and hit enter yjem oce the service is stopped wait for 10 seconds and on the command prompt type NET START SPOOLER and hit enter and once its started close the command prompt and try to print.

A lot of branded ink pots have chips in them some dont it sounds like your hp printer is not getting the correct response from these ink pots , you could try to override the report and tell it to print anyway
