Can't print or copy anything
Hi
This is a common problem with these models. Any ways this is a problem with the cable connecting from logic board to the scanner assy. replacement is the best solution
I am unable to scan
Please follow the sequence below:
Unplug the device from the computer.
From Control Panel->Ad Remove Progs uninstall the device.
Reboot the computer.
Reinstall the device.
Plug in the device and allow Windows to auto detect the device and load its drivers.
Use the program provided by HP to scan.

Note: Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your computer. You also need to have the HP Softwares installed on your computer.

Hi,
The problem could be that the black colored cartridge is low in ink, you may need to replace your black cartridge, but if you just did that, you can try reset your printer by following this procedure to reset it,
1. Without turning the unit off, unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
2. Press and hold # and 6 keys.
3. While holding those keys plug the power cord back in.
4. Wait until the screen goes blank before you release those keys.
5. Follow on printer screen instructions.This should fix the problem.
I cannot print
Sometimes it can be due to failure of the printer head, failure of ink catridges. In some cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts.
