Replace the toner cartridge

Remove the paper and re-loaded it, if it still giving you the blinking, turn it off and hold the go key down while turning it on then release it, this should rest any errors, worse case you have a bad fuser.

If it is not the cartridge check the fuser. Open the back access cover shine a light in and look for wear marks on the grey fuser film. If it is worn the fuser film is worn it should be replaced.

Be sure that there is a cartridge and paper installed. The 1300 cartridge is chiped so that it "knows" when it's empty. It may just be that it thinks the cartridge is empty and it wants a replacement. [email protected] with questions.

Take your printer in for a maintenance cleaning by a certified technician to resolve this issue.

Remove the cartridge and paper tray to see where the paper jam is. If it is a whole page jammed inside of printer, before removing shut off printer and carefully remove paper if you end up tearing a piece this will make it harder to remove in pieces. After you have removed jammed paper reinstall toner cartridge and paper tray turn printer on and see if this clears the jam error message.

for this model.. first check if your toner cart is good.. if it's good.. then the cause of your problem is your printer fuser sleeve.. fuser is where the paper is heated up.. and when you start having dirty line print out.. it show that the fuser sleeve(top part of the fuser) is torn..
if you send to HP.. they will probably charge you the whole fuser.. which is expensive.. you can always replace the fuser sleeve only..and it cost not much.. you can always replace it by yourself if you are able to remove the fuser unit..other thing.when you switch on the printer, can you hear sound like paper been crumble at the exit of the printer?

For when you start your computer and when you see user welcome screen press CLRT +ALT+ double delete means presss delete twise so you cans see user name enter user as administrator so you can enter with admin rights then you can install software.

If it's a crackling sound it's probably the fuser. Replacing the fuser will cost more than the printer is worth.

1. See the product user guide for information about clearing jams from the printer.
2. Make sure that the paper guides are adjusted properly. Slide the guides against the sides of the stack in the main input tray or the priority input tray to center the page. Make sure that the guides are not adjusted too tightly.
3. The media input tray might be too full. Remove some of the sheets.
4. Make sure that the media being used meets specifications. Click here to refer to "Media specifications" for more information .
5. Make sure that the media being used is not wrinkled, folded, or damaged.
6. Make sure that the printer is clean. See the product user guide for information about cleaning the printer.
7. If printing to the straight-through output path, close and open the door again to make sure that the green release levers are closed.
8. The paper might not have been removed from the main input tray before the tray was refilled. Always remove paper form the main input tray before refilling it.
9. Output capacity might have been exceeded in the paper output bin. Do not allow more than 125 sheets of 20-lb (75 g/m2) bond weight paper to fill the paper output bin (less for heavier paper).
10. The pickup roller or printer separation pad might be dirty or damaged. Clean or replace the part. (See the product user guide for information about cleaning and replacing the pickup roller and printer separation pad.)

you can download another software from the hp link below: once you open the link, select your operating system (Vista,XP etc) from the list to proceed for the download.

Also, you can go to control panel on your computer, click on the printer icon, check for your printer model, right-click on it and set it as default printer.

You can as well attempt to print, and when the printer dialogue box comes up, select your printer model on the printer name and attempt to print.

If it still does not work, you can then proceed for the download. Before you install the downloaded software, make sure you restart your system and try to delete/uninstall the previous one.
