It is not possible to see how many pages you printed with your current cartridge.

Depending of how many scans made your machine there may be three possible reasons:
1) the scaner cover it is not firmly closed
2) paper feed roller is dirty (clean it)
3) paper feed roller it is used and should be replaced

make sure u had added the paper correctly

If you have a fax on the same line with voice mail, it will never work. You need to get rid of the voice mail, or get a custom ring from your phone company and set the fax to answer to a "distinctive ring" - see your user manual for that setup.

The thing is printer is automatically detected by the system and there was no proper driver was installed and it is in device manger installed as other device with yellow mark. Just uninstall it. And click on scan for hardware changes. To go to device manager right click on my computer and go to properties then hardware in that click on device manger and check there is any other device is listed if it is there just remove it and click for scan for hardware changes when he prompt for driver reinstall the driver cd.

Don’t connect the printer usb cable first
1st you install the driver disc which is come along with the printer and when the software prompt you to connect the cable then plug the usb cable and follow the instruction.

It means the scanning assembly has gone out, either the lamp is bad or the sensors, you can check at
www.partsurfer.hp.com and see if they have a replacement scanner, but I doubt you can replace it.

The printer had a lot of "dirt" in the paper tray, and after i clean it up, everithyng worked fine again.

You need to change the scanner program settings on the computer to save the document as a PDF instead of a TIF.

I don't see a "service manual" that would describe your task, but you should look for yourself.

Printed pages are VERY light, and the fuser temperature is low. The toner is not fixed on paper. Still it don`t give any errors. A detailed diagram of the power souce have anyone?

Are you referring to the fax memory?

Press the Enter/Menu button then select options by pressing < or > button. Look for Fax Functions. Press ENTER. Again press the < or > button until you find Clear Memory. Press the Enter button again to clear the memory.

Try this:
First put the cd and installation wizard will come up ...goto install more sw>>install ocr .....
Now scan will get the options.

or

Now for the 2nd opt>> put the sw cd if you have right click explore ..(goto step 3) but if you dont have the cd you can download the sw from hp.com >support and drivers..extract the file and goto run(search bar for vista) type "%temp%" and then click on folder starting with 7z....now goto step 3.
step 3.goto util folder>>ccc>>unistall l3 but make sure you have to unplug the usb first.
>>Small black box will appear and press enter...and wait it will unistal the printer sw.
>>goto printers and faxes folder under controlpanel (printer for vista)...chk if there is any hp printer any more...if there is any printer not in use..delete them.
>>restart the sys and then install from the downloaded sw only but make sure you should include ocr sw if you are installing it as a custom installtion other wise everything fine.
now scan everything will work.
